If Mike is shut down Brees will do as he’s always done. Throw the ball to other players it’s the Payton way

Just because he don’t throw to them doesn’t mean they’re not open. If MT is the 1st read and he’s open you throw it to him and don’t even look at your 2nd read whether he’s open or not. That's true. But I would say it is beneficial for guys behind Thomas to step up and get open.
I think the plan all along has been to unleash Dez in December
Great post.Just because he don’t throw to them doesn’t mean they’re not open. If MT is the 1st read and he’s open you throw it to him and don’t even look at your 2nd read whether he’s open or not.
I thought TQS would start to show up at this point in the season. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to have a grasp of the offense. On multiple plays yesterday, Brees and other players had to “move” him because he was lined up in the wrong place. On one play, I think Brees had to move him 3 times. There were a couple of other plays where he seemed lost, when he should have been blocking for the ball carrier.
Now your going to have to pay him like a # 2 receiver and #1 running back. Financially the saints can't afford that and no Loomis can't make that happen. I would prefer a 2nd receiver with his attributes.Numbers show Alvin Kamara is entrenched as our #2 receiver for the foreseeable future and he’s been really good at it
I think part of it is that we arent really used to seeing this in a Sean Payton offense. We are used to seeing Drew spread the ball around. For years, we said things like "Colston did this and that's with Drew spreading the ball around. Imagine if we targeted him like a #1 receiver." This is a big deviation from what we did back then. But it's not uncommon.I think some of us are still equating lack of targets to lack of talent. We have a target hog, and a team that has dialled back on the number of targets being distributed overall compared to previous years, both of which contribute to small dinners for the remaining eligible receivers.
Cook looks to be coming too.
I was thinking the same but it really comes down to what the market will offer. I think the league has learned a lesson from Gurley and Bell. These guys are also "supposed" to be 20-25 carry RB's. Kamara is not. Also McCaffrey and Dalvin Cook can make cases that they are more vital to a team. Now your going to have to pay him like a # 2 receiver and #1 running back. Financially the saints can't afford that and no Loomis can't make that happen. I would prefer a 2nd receiver with his attributes.
