3-way Tie Between us, Seahawks, and Packers (1 Viewer)

After the third team is eliminated (us because of conference record) the tie breakers go back to step 1. But GB and SEA have the same overall record, conference record, and division record.

So I think it goes to Common games after that. GB lost to Philly and San Fran. SEA beat both of those teams, so I think that gives them the edge

You have to play at least 4 common opponents to use that breaker. I don't think they have. They would go to strength of victory next. Seattle currently has an age there also.

but if the Saints win out and they lost to Seattle, they were already below us in the seeding. That is where I'm saying we gained nothing.
If they had won yesterday then in order for the Saints to get ahead of them they would have to lose to both the Rams at home and Seahawks the last 2 weeks. With the Saints winning out. The lost to ATL opened up more chances for the Saints to get the 1 seed over SF.

No. Because I they lose to Seattle they do not win their division. It doesn’t matter if they have the same record as us if they are a wildcard.

We are 3 regardless of tonight, exactly my point. It goes to number 3 since we all haven’t played each other. That’s exactly what the picture you posted shows as well. Thank you

But not for the reasons you keep saying:

here is an example that shows Head-to-Head coming back into play.

I admit I thought yaegger was wrong earlier today an clowned all his posts. But went back and switched them after looking further into it.

All we can do is win the games in front of us and let the chips fall where they may. We are where we are. And partly, that's our own fault, it would APPEAR that we took Atlanta lightly on the first go 'round. The 49er game was hard faught but going for 2 early when we didn't need to came back to bite us. You live and you learn. EVEN with all of that, we are in, it's just a matter or seeding.

This team, can beat anybody they face. Now will be a matter of injuries/health, officiating, and coaching but we know without a doubt we can beat anyone we face, that's how capable this team is.

Remember two years back going into Minny, injured, we got outscored early but this team fought back. There is resilience in this Saints team, a fight far bigger than the dog.

There is no need for gnashing of teeth and wailing. At this point we simply have to fight the team in front of us and come out victorious.

All this talk of a 3 way tie reminds me of the heartache in the '04 season when the Saints ended in a 3 way tie for a wildcard spot and they missed the playoffs while a team they beat head to head (St. Louis) got in. At least this time its a seeding thing and we know we are already in.

Now that this argument is over. It's pretty sad when so many fail at simple tasks like reading comprehension and logic. It's awesome you were able to show the scenario correctly with a simulator, but I was able to figure this out just by comprehending what I read and applying simple logic based on simple rules laid out to me. Ego inhibits ones ability to reason and blinds us.
