"Perfect" albums (1 Viewer)

Nirvana Unplugged (most would list In Utero)

Sublime- Self Titled Album

Definitely could get on board with those three being good. I like that Beautiful Disaster song by 311, but couldn't get into them very much.

At the time when Nirvana, Nevermind came out, and Metallica, Black album came out, those were pretty amazing tapes. Had a tape deck at the time.

They both still are incredible now, but I think the parameters set by thread is to severe to give any blanket answers. Those are a lot of parameters.

The first two albums, Grassroots and Music were very raw sounding. I still remember the first time I heard this song. It was in the early 90's and I had never heard anything like it. It was like a great fusion restaurant 25 years before fusion was a thing. It's not for everyone and there are no songs that really stand out as huge hit songs from either of the first two albums but both albums were really good. For the 311 self titled album their sound got a lot cleaner and that album had quite a few big hits and that is when they blew up. The bridges in every song in Music are pretty awesome and they incorporated Hip Hop, rock, reggae, metal and probably a half dozen other genre's into almost every song. It's certainly not for everyone but I'm a huge fan of musicians that get outside the box and they certainly did that. So they were perfect albums for me but 99.99% of the world has never even heard them.

I can appreciate the diversity, just not really my jam. Seen Sublime before the fall out and before they were played on KROQ. They were pretty much "The Local Band" that everyone wanted to see. Good times and great sound at the time.

Wish I had a chance to see them back when they were underground in LB. I get that with 311, not everyone's cup of tea. It's certainly not perfect albums in the sense of being iconic like the others mentioned in this thread.

It's rare to find those bands that come along and offer something completely unique. To find it today with all instrument produced sounds is pretty much impossible. To find perfect "albums" today is also pretty damn hard since nobody focuses on the album anymore, just the singles in them.

Oh yeah, the music scene in the early 90's was probably the peak for my generation. Everything was exploding. Loved to watch MTV also. They had Beavis and Butthead, and always had new bands that actually sounded good popping up. It just seemed everyone was waiting in line to go mainstream, Kurt's death pretty much marked the beginning of the downfall.

Some people compare the 90's to the 60's, both were magical years of music. I'm really hoping a 3rd wave is coming soon.

New music that is good can still be found, but you might have to see them play live. lol. It's alright, music goes in phases, it will eventually turn around.

Drug and music revolutions tend to happen simultaneously. lol

We might have a Corona Virus music surge then. I wouldn't question your calls, you pretty much have an atomic clock hiding somewhere. You made some incredible calls in the Investment Thread.

Another vote for Violator and Purplr Rain and of course Thriller
The Cult Sonic Temple

JA Ritual de lo Habitual

Songs from the Big Chair

and oddly for me Dr Feelgood.

and U2 Achtung Baby.
