We are really getting a lot of bang for our buck here potentially. Outstanding find by the brain trust on Airline Dr.

Very interesting that we pushed the additional money into the future with a void year on such a cheap deal.

I think the 500K void year was added so that Wilson could have a lower cap hit in year 1 at 1.85M. Without it, 2024 cap hit would probably be around 2.85M. Pushing the 1M gives the team more cap flexibility this year.

His guarantees looks like he’s entrenched on the WR depth chart as of now. Olave/Shaheed/Perry/Wilson looks to be the WR roster locks. Next significant WR addition will probably be a draft pick or another cheaper FA vet like Renfrow.

Yes!! I thought I had seen him do that with the Dolphins. Maybe the Saints can make that part of the offensive play book. I'm anxious to see how he fits into Kubiak's offensive scheme.

I’m starting to believe much of the sudden fan interest in Renfrow is so those same people can kvetch about DA wanting former Raiders too much to be a competent HC

With the Saints giving Wilson a $2.85 million guaranteed salary for 2024 they didn't do so with the idea he would be a camp body competing for a position. Barring injury, he will be on the Saints 53 man roster this year.

The Saints may still bring in a free agent WR or draft a WR. They could keep as many as 6 WRs on the 53 man roster. As of today the depth chart looks like this:

1. Olave
2. Shaheed
3. Wilson
4. Perry
5. F/A-Draft
6. Morgan?

We didn’t have a #3 WR for most of last year. MT was injured. ATP had rookie mistakes. Bowden was a blocker. Kirkwood and Morgan are #5/6 guys.

I think we found our big slot. Wilson, 6.88 RAS, is more athletic than Renfrow, 2.94.

I can see Wilson giving us 400-500 much needed yards this season.

No need to eat any crow. Wilson was always a system signing to help KK install his system. Anything other than that was bonus.
