A.T. Perry waived (Unclaimed off waivers); Perry signs to the Broncos practice squad (1 Viewer)

Watch it in slow motion and tell me that doesn't look almost supernatural. Same with Reggie's spin TD over the pylon from (IIRC) that season.

Yep. The way he extended back to get the ball across the plane, as he was going to the ground.

Funnily enough, you wanna know a receiver from the Saints past who I think makes that catch despite not being a top wideout? Lance Moore. An overlooked aspect of Lance's game was his insane body control. On those teams around that era, the only player on the team with better body control was Reggie. Both of them seemed like they could move their arms/hands faster than what was humanly possible.
You got me feeling nostalgic for Lance. Damn I miss that receiver group.

Didn't realize how good we had it. You might not think of them as world beaters but I swear they worked so good together in that offense.
Their skillsets worked together so well. You had the burner in Devery, you had the 3rd down machine in Colston who could literally catch anything thrown in his general direction, and the zone killer in Lance. On top of that, you had Meachem who was oddly dependable when his number was called and was a good perimeter blocker, and you also had Roby as the return specialist. Freaky good synergy in that group. Then you had Reggie as the electrifying guy that teams HAD to account for, and Pierre who was incredibly dependable and the best screen runner I've ever seen. That offense was really something else.

21 page thread for a guy who was 6th on the depth chart and cleared waivers. Wild.

I wish him the best, but he's gone and Saints gotta get the most out of the WRs they do have. Hopefully SR is the guy that can get the ball to 'em.

Outside of Shaheed and Olave, the WR group has 5 catches for 28 yards. After his late season productivity in 2023 and 8 catches for 176 yards in preseason it baffles me that they never even gave him a shot to do better than the 3rd-5th WRs.

I get that, but the coaches see these guys every day. They don't always get it right, but there's more to the story than just his limited production last season. If he's having issues with the new playbook among other things, that might account for why he hasn't done anything this season and why all 32 teams chose not to sign him.

We don't know what we don't know in this case.

And yet he was passed up by Bub Means and an UDFA.

What does that tell you about AT?

Absolutely, that's why we're sitting here speculating. We really don't know because the reason they gave was that we needed an OL for the game yet we didn't start the new OL and had other OLs on the practice squad that could have been elevated. And they said they wanted to sign him back to the practice squad.

I don't know what it says. It's an odd move that never had an explanation that I thought was sufficient.

And the way he worded it made it almost seem like they were lying about his injury....

Well, that's nothing new. Players often say stuff like that when going to a new team. Wake me up when he gets on the field and makes plays. Until then, it's a non-story.

I don't think we're gonna get any more of an explanation at this point. Might as well move on.
