Some Steelers fans pushing for Tomlin’s firing

I hear Steelers fans are pushing for Tomlin to be fired if things go bad and they fall short again.

I know its unlikely.. but if Tomlin were to be fired\resign. I dont see how he wouldnt be #1 on our list... defensive coach or not.

They aren't going to fire him but if they did I would hire him.

Mike Tomlin just signed a 3 year contract extension in June 2024.

Steelers are 10-6 (L3) with a clinched playoff berth. They’ll likely play the wildcard round against the Texans who are struggling.

This is how fandom works. They haven't won a playoff game since Obama was president. Every fan base would have a segment of fans getting frustrated. I think when Tomlin leaves it will be on his own terms.

Contract extension or not, I could see a mutual parting of ways that has Tomlin moving on to a broadcasting job. But, I don’t see the Steelers outright firing him. That’s not how they roll.

No playoff wins in a decade. He coaches teams that are great through Thanksgiving and then the wheels come off.

He's a weird case in that he's obviously not a bad coach, but all the regular season wins in the world don't mean much of anything if you get bounced in the first round of the playoffs every year. At a certain point it becomes fair to ask if the team is just spinning its wheels. They look headed for another early exit this year.

They haven't had good QB play since big Ben retired.

Tomlin is not the problem. Lack of available good QBs is the problem.

Tomlin is about the only defensive coach I'd consider. If the Steelers let him go, I'd welcome him in a heartbeat.

That said, Steelers ain't letting him go. This is just fans being fans.

This has been going on for approximately 3 years now...
It is only a small group of fans that are making a lot of noise.
