Some Steelers fans pushing for Tomlin’s firing (2 Viewers)

That would be about the dumbest move ever.

He is a HOF coach which is all well and good but he is an even better manager always getting the most out of players.

He was able to keep the crazy personality of AB under wraps and get production out of him. Ditto for Santonio Holmes, Big Ben, Le’Veon Bell, Pouncey and I am sure a whole host of others that have off field stuff/insane personalities/drama that we don’t even know about. Just this season look how he handled having both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. He can take a bunch of disjointed pieces and parts and get everyone rowing in unison.

They won’t because I am sure the Stealers know what they have in him but if they did the Saints would be morons, along with every other team looking for a coach, to not do everything and anything to land him.

He would instantly replace the ability to run/manage a football program that we had up until Payton walked out of the door and was replaced by a guy that couldn’t run a footlocker.

That all said Tomlin is going nowhere.

Just as long as he doesn't bring that 1930's offense with him.

I posted this on another thread. 1930's offense or not, since Tomlin took over the Steeler in 2007; the Steelers have yet to see a losing season in 18 seasons (counting 2024), have gone to the playoffs 11 times, twice to the SB, and won 1.

Who's done better the last 17 years (not named Andy Reid or Bill Belichick?

For all the love Kyle Shanahan and his tree get, Shanahan has not won a SB (he surely can lose them as OC and HC), and his 49ers window is about to close.

QB drafting and development hasn't ever been Tomlins strength. Kenny Picket, Mason Rudolph, Josh Dobbs... he hasn't been able to develop a QB ever. Roethlisberger was drafted and developed by Cowher and not Tomlins. Great defensive mind and was able to stay competitive in a meah division (Cleveland, Raven & Cincy). We need a HC who can spot and develop QB talent. However, that might be a unicorn...

I think this is more draft luck than development. Roesthlisberger was a unit coming out of college. Lamar Jackson, Allen, Mahomes, etc. Its the luck of the draw. If you get a great QB coaching becomes considerably easier. The mark of a great coach in today's NFL is someone who can do what Tomlin does while consistently drafting in the back half of the draft. He's taken the draft equivalent of taking a flier on QBs with a late first, 3rd rounder, and a 4th rounder. The odds of finding a franchise QB outside the top 10 are slim. Tomlin doesn't draft in the top 10, LOL. Once in 18 years, and that pick was #10. I bet Tomlin can spot and QB just fine. Being in position to take a good one is the problem.

Ben Roethlisberger was his quarterback from 2007-2021. How much quarterback developing was he supposed to be doing for 15 seasons? The thing about having a top 25% quarterback is that there’s eight spots to occupy, Ben R. spent almost the entirety of his career in it, and even a casual observer of today’s NFL could give you four of them with minimal effort (Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson, Allen).

This board seems to think finding a quarterback is easy. I truly don’t get it. Fifteen seasons of Brees and a chunk of the commenters here seem to have taken away “every team should be capable of that all the time” instead of “how fortunate we were as fans to be in the ‘haves’ of QB play.”

If I could click that like button 100000 times I would sit here and do it. Thank you for saying that. It drives the heck out of me. We were truly blessed not to see another day for once 🤣 but to be able to watch that man play in the black and gold. What we had happens so rare frankly we may never see it again.

There is a reason the same handful of teams are contenders ever year and well… it’s because they have that QB. The rest of the NFL is right where we are. It’s not to say it can’t happen look the Giants got two with Eli. He was a middle of the road QB but they had an all time front four on their defense which let them do all kind of stuff on defense that other teams couldn’t do. It can be done you can win it all but you have to have a lot of breaks along the way. Look at what we did along the way we had some of the historically worst defenses ever assembled but Brees was so good he still kept us on the cusp.

The best thing we can do now is keep drafting QB’s over and over develop them and trade them till we find the guy. Everyone is looking for QB’s we mind as well start getting some poker chips while we keep digging around for one.

Tomlin is one of the greatest coaches of all time.

The steelers are fools if they fire him.

I'd LOVE to have him as our HC.
IDK the Steelers haven't won a wild card game or a playoff game since 2016. That's not Steelers football.

Mike Tomlin just signed a 3 year contract extension in June 2024.

Steelers are 10-6 (L3) with a clinched playoff berth. They’ll likely play the wildcard round against the Texans who are struggling.
Chargers are going to play for that matchup. Steelers are going back to Baltimore.

Falling short to Mahome's is frustrating. As it was with Brady. As it was with Jordan. As it was with Russell. Hard to beat the GOAT. Tomlin is not going to be fired.
Buffalo beats him in regular season and he plays close with the Bengals and Ravens. If Josh keeps beating Mahomes in regular season he's bound to beat him in the playoffs. Sure, Pittsburgh needs a QB, but allowing KC to score 29 in Pittsburgh is unacceptable.

We never know what is said inside of an organization but the way Pickett was handled looks bad.
He was a young player that they possibly gave up on way to quickly...

please let the fans cry so hard, that their owner steps in and caves to firing him so we can glady grab him.

My son showed me that clip...
Almost as bad as Sanchez's butt fumble except it didn't cost them the game.
