Why is everyone so down on Carr? I never understand this empty frustration directed at him. His numbers are very good. As of now Carr gives us the best chance to win. Even drafting a quarterback, Carr is still the best options.
Does he give you a chance to win? What has his career proven? This team should be rebuilding anyway. We are too old and devoid of talent due to abysmal salary cap management by a GM who has zero accountability.

Problem is that you certainly want to talk to, and possibly hire, guys that are still in the playoffs and that's hard to do while they are still in the playoffs. But, don't we have until June 1 before we really have to make any roster moves and get under the cap?
We can start with college guys now. The team needs a new vision for the future. NFL understudies are great, but innovation is coming from college and they know the next generation of football players better than the old coaches in the nfl do. Not saying to not eventually hire a coordinator from another team, just to get started. Ron Rivera has already scheduled an interview with the Jets. I just want to see some movement.

And we have only until March 17th to get under the cap.

I feel good about our QB situation with Carr being the starter again next year and letting Rattler develop another year as the primary backup. Consider it our Dollar General version of Aaron Rodgers/Jordan Love.

We have far too many other glaring deficiencies to be concerned with our QB situation. It's not great but it's fine. We need help at nearly every other position before QB

wasn't an option in the OP, and Carr has absolutely outplayed Rattler.

Benching Carr to start a not fully developed Rattler is foolish.
Seems to be a trend to start young undeveloped qb’s these days. Works for some, and not so much for others

Must be under the cap by league year start.

Ideally for rebuilding, yes, i would start him next season. But we cant do that with our rigid cap management, we are married to Carr for another season without flexibility. And frankly if we are trying to win next season, unless Rattler suddenly has a huge jump over the offseason, Carr should be the starter. If we aren't winning, then Rattler should take over to continue to see if he is ready. he appears to have made great progress, he didn't look lost or out of his depth yeaterday. Yea he forced some stuff late, but those are growing pains.

Then again, if Carr is suddenly killing it next year with a real coach (how many coaches has he had?)and we go on a run, then Carr would earn the right to be the starter for as long as he wants. Yea that may be unlikely based on his career, but it aint impossible.

Some Saints fans: WE NEED A WINNER !!! DEREK CARR AIN'T HIM !!!

Also some Saints fans: let's keep going with a guy who has yet to win an NFL game instead of the only QB in 2024 who actually did win some games for us.

Assuming we move on from Derek, is Rattler your guy next year? On Twitter, there appears to be mixed reviews of him.
Rattler is not my guy in 2025. I hope Carr is our guy. He is a good QB, which he proved in the first 2 games with a healthy team, and did okay with an unhealthy team. Give him a fairly healthy team, and he’ll do fine.

No, Carr when Healthy was one of the top qbs this year and that is with passing to bad group of WRs and TE.

Rattler got shutout by GB and did mediocre against the Raiders. Rattler ceiling is that of being a capable backup.

I mean, we could strat Rattler next season and tell Carr he's going to be the backup. That might actually make Carr ask for a trade and might make him willing to restructure his contract in order to make a trade possible.

But, I'd personally rather just let Carr and Rattler compete in camp and start whoever the better QB is unless it's really close at which point I would go with Rattler since he has more upside given his age.
