Who thinks James Pearce would be a good fit if we switched to a 3-4?

They made clutch memorable playsThe Saints best WRs with Payton were not high round picks outside of MT who was a 2nd round pick later in Payton's career. The Super Bowl team was built on a 7th round pick. Meachum was a bust. And Henderson never lived up to being a 2nd round pick although he did become a good deep threat after a few years.
So it's not really fair to say that we were good because we spent high round picks on WRs and RBs. We were good despite bad picks at WR. Mostly because Drew Brees could throw anyone open.
That cardinal game he made big plays he brought the energyNo... that was the HOF QB that lead us to a Superbowl. Bush never lived up to expectations.
Bush never lead us to anything.
Goes back to the main point: RBs can be great compliment pieces if you have more important positions filled. They do not lead you to anything.
Everyone stepped up that season when their number was called. It seemed like every game had a breakout performance from someone. Reggie and Drew against Miami, the Meacharound, the third-string RB suplexing a returner against the Bills...that was truly a special season and we may never see its like again. That cardinal game he made big plays he brought the energy
we'd need to start drafting Lb'ers. Werner is the only one worth having now. I love DD,but his best days are behind him. That said, the Steelers have historically found those tweeners who can rush the Qb.Who thinks James Pearce would be a good fit if we switched to a 3-4?
I like his tape a lot. He's my number 2 edge after Abdul Carter and the only other Edge I would take at 9.Who thinks James Pearce would be a good fit if we switched to a 3-4?
Yeah that TD run was sayers/sanders like. We saw what he was capable of. He just didn't do it enoughThat cardinal game he made big plays he brought the energy
No buddy, you were a kid at the time. Learn your historyNobody said he wasn't vital.
I said he didn't lead us to anything. Our HOF QB we got through FA did.
Which again is the whole point. RBs don't lead you to success unless you have other more vital positions already filled.
Remember the 2008 game against the Vikings? Reggie almost had three punt return TDs. Flashes were always there, but he was never able to put it together like Alvin.Yeah that TD run was sayers/sanders like. We saw what he was capable of. He just didn't do it enough
Look at the available Free Agent guard list---it's long---We aren't going to be big buyers in FA but maybe get a Guard in free agency to secure the line up the middle.Did you watch our OL this year...
I'm not saying to use a 1st round pick but we need an OG that can come in & start.
Our G play was especially bad this year...
Yes, the marketing point can't be overlooked. Another thing that can't be overlooked was the way he helpedRemember the 2008 game against the Vikings? Reggie almost had three punt return TDs. Flashes were always there, but he was never able to put it together like Alvin.
But Reggie was huge for us from a marketing standpoint, too. I still have my Reggie Bush signature edition Adidas Bounces in black and gold...and I'm not even a sneakerhead. But they're still my very favorite pair of shoes I've ever had.

Yes, I remember reading an article a long time ago where Bill Cowher said the reason he changed toThose tweeners who rush the QB are on a teams that runs the 3-4...
That is the reason quite a few of us have been screaming for a switch to 3-4.
The tweeners (OLB) 99.9% of the time have much better 40, shuttle, side to side, coverage times than a DE in the 4-3.
Which means you can cover a TE or RB out of the back field better.
A 3-4 makes a lot more sense in today's NFL with all of the mobile QB's that can throw the ball...
Werner would get moved to ILB in a 3-4 because his side-line to side-line coverage isn't the best..
No one mentioned it but Nephi Sewell played a pretty good game replacing Werner this past week...
Who was the Saints’ breakout player vs. the Buccaneers?
With Week 18 in the books, let’s take a look at who stood out for New Orleans.www.canalstreetchronicles.com
