Fair enough. Which is why I have him below the other two. Yet, even in that game he still threw the ball better then Sanders, Milroe and matched Ward.

But they don't throw the ball better than Rattler or Haener.
We have too many holes to fill to be using a draft pick on another possible, maybe , QB of the future.

The 2026 draft is where that should happen.

I’m not saying sign a Pro Bowl Guard which was pretty well stated in my previous post lol. I’m saying don’t sign the absolute bottom of the barrel signings like we did last year. There is a happy medium to get a “solid” Guard without absolutely breaking the bank. We obviously don’t need to spend $20 million per year on one, but around $10 million per year on a “solid” OL this year is very feasible.

Hopefully Penning attends Duke's school again and Duke tells him to pass block like he run blocks. Because he is just vicious in the run game. I saw him manhandling 350lb DTs like they were DBs and just destroying their will to face him. I think he still may be overthinking his pass blocking.

I just think with Penning we have to let his development play out. When drafted it was clear he was under-developed technically, but with the right tools, etc. It was always going to take time. At this point he managed to start a full year and he has a number of things to improve on, but the platform he is on to improve is much higher than it was in the off-season.

And in general, OL tend to need that 2-3 years development to become what they will be. Saldiveri is another case in point - he has underwhelmed so far but he can still turn out good. There are plenty of exceptions but letting these guys grow into starting roles often is what is required.

I had high hopes for Saldi this year... but you can't develop if you are constantly missing games.

He does, absolutely.

My only point is that he may still develop and that wouldn't be unusual or shocking. It's too early to really know for sure one way or another. He may be gone from the league in a year or two as well, and that also wouldn't be unusual, or shocking.

Yes, the marketing point can't be overlooked. Another thing that can't be overlooked was the way he helped
dictate what defenses had to do. When he lined up in the slot it opened a lot of options for Brees. Sending
him across the formation opened up a lot of space for Deuce and reverses for Devery Henderson.
Marques Colston often had 1 on 1 matchups with safeties.

Yup, this times 1000.....RB was a matchup nightmare for defenses.....he was also excellent in pass protection (which no one ever mentions), he was a big part of the championship team.....

He was freakishly athletic but the reason he wasn't at the level of an AK is vision, he didn't have great vision....

Frankly, I think Rattler is a better prospect that any of the QBs in this draft including Sanders and Ward.

No. Sheduer Sanders played behind an OL worse than the Saints had when we lost our starting LG, C, RG and the line became a turnstile up the middle and still put up numbers.

I have watched all his games, his only weakness is that he holds the ball to long sometimes waiting players to get open. But I would take him over Rattler in a heartbeat.

That's kind of where I'm at. We don't need to sign a high priced OG just an upgrade to Patrick. I'd love to make Ruiz a backup C and to backup RG and upgrade RG, it would also help Penning as well

That's my feeling as well. I'd also like to upgrade both OG positions. What do you think about making Ruiz a back up OC since McCoy has had trouble staying healthy lately?
