I'm still where I have been for 2 months... Warren / Tmac / Jeanty in the 1st and D Jackson / Sawyer in the 2nd and Taylor / Skateebo in the 3rd.

I'm definitely high on Warren and Tmac. Jeanty is great, but not keen on picking RB with the other needs we have.I'm still where I have been for 2 months... Warren / Tmac / Jeanty in the 1st and D Jackson / Sawyer in the 2nd and Taylor / Skateebo in the 3rd.

Sawyer in the second would be great.
Third, don't really have a strong opinion but I think Skate would probably be great as a Taysom Hill type player in our offense.
Do you realize that most of our best OL EVER played a different position in college than they did with us ??Wait. Didn't we already draft a stud LT this year? I have, I think a genius idea, how about we draft a LG to play LG? I don't think the Saints have ever done that before. Maybe it will work.
If T-Mac , Graham or Carter are gone I'm all for trading down 8-10 spots and taking Warren. AK will be 30 yes , But he takes incredible care of himself and had one of his best yrs in a long time. 1500 yds from scrimmage. He has at least 2 more yrs at this level in a system like this. Many people aren't Keen on a RB in the 1st... With the state of the current roster... I am past "Need Positions and Position Value"....
We "need" everywhere... The value is any player that can help us score TDs and stop kicking FGs. Jeanty is in that category, and I think he's a special talent... He's the only RB in this class I'd take in the top 10... but not over Tmac, and probably not over Warren.
A few weeks back I got all kinds of flack for suggesting we take Warren with our first pick... Now I see we have some posters here that got to watch him this week in the playoffs have had a change of heart. LOL
I just want young offensive playmakers, and I don't care much what position they play.
Remember - AK is 30... Taysom is 35... I have played more games that Miller has in 2 years... and we ended the season with CEH handling a lot of the RB duties after 1 week with the team...
"Needs" tend to be fluid and situational... I want playmakers... F dem needs.
The most feasible move with Ruiz is to draft a guard in the 3rd round or so and have him develop behind Ruiz for a year. Next year we can get out of Ruiz's contract and have that guy take over.Definitely agree on that. The issue is that what happens is that the team won’t go out of its way to find a better player to trump a player whose salary is that high.
Now, if they happen to stumble upon a cheap free agent that suddenly has a light bulb come on and gets great, or get lucky and strike gold on an immediate Pro Bowl level rookie guard out of Bloomsberg College that you got in the middle of the draft, that’s a different story.
YES! YES! & YESI'm still where I have been for years. The best value in most drafts is mid-round RBs and they are much better value than 1st round RBs. That's particularly true in this draft with so many RBs with the potential to be as good as or almost as good as Jeanty who are going to be sitting there in the 3rd Round. With the running trend in the NFL, some may move up to the 2nd, but it's still better value to trade down for a team that needs help all over the field.
I'd take BPA at #9 (which could be TMac, Graham, OT, or Will Johnson) unless it's Jeanty in which case I'd trade down likely targeting Warren in the #20 range. I'd also probably trade down if OT was BPA and might even double dip at RB in the middle rounds adding Skateebo to someone like Hampton, Henderson, or Judkins because I think he's going to be more of a Jurczyk FB than a true RB in the NFL. And Skateebo could even drop into the 4th or 5th depending on how he runs at the combine.
If we come away with some combination of these players on day 1 and day 2, I’ll be very happy:
Abdul Carter, Tetairoa McMillan, Mason Graham, Ashton Jeanty, or Tyler Warren at pick #9
Deone Walker, Jalen Royals, Harold Fannin, Tre Harris, Coleston Loveland, Kaleb Johnson, Tyler Booker, Donovan Jackson, Kenneth Grant at pick #40
Jayden Higgins, Cam Skattebo, Treveyon Henderson, Barrett Carter, Mason Taylor, Gunnar Helm, Dylan Sampson, Tate Ratledge with our 3rd round picks
The trick with OLs is to not have them blocking for 8 seconds like riding a bull, the best OLs are with the QB that gets rid of the ball quickly. Brees got rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds!!! Any OL can hold up for that. Guarantee our OL could look like All Pro with a QB that makes decisions that quick. He’s great but their o line is miles and miles above ours. They may have the best o line in the league.
Also their TE and WR’s are miles above ours lol. Taking pressure off of the RB.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have their offense, just saying we need so much.
And you’re right we have invested heavily (pun) in our o line, it just hasn’t panned out.
