With the 9th Pick in the 2025 draft, who should the Saints select? (merged) (11 Viewers)

With the 9th pick the 2025 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints select…

Will Johnson, CB, Michigan.

At 9, there’s a possibility that someone drops. I personally hope that it’s TMac or Mason Graham, but i seriously doubt it. TMac & Graham are too good to pass on. I’d say the same about Will Johnson, but that toe injury that killed his 24 season could drop him directly into our laps. Not 100 on our current CBs. Alontae seems better in the slot, Kool-Aid is a total work in progress, & Adebo is a FA coming off a major injury.

Picking Will Johnson, if he falls, would be a slam dunk pick for us. It would be like when Marshon fell to us at 11 in 17.
Probably right about this, just bummed because until this year we were set at CB. One season and we trade our best CB ( although he couldn’t stay on the field) Adebo broken leg so now we’re back to the cupboard.

I’d honestly feel perfect happy going into the season resigning Adebo to go along with Alontae Taylor, Kool-Aid, and Rico Payton as our CB’s for 2025.

Adebo with his unfortunate injury presents a big problem. What will be his status in April? Given that McKinstry seemed like a luxury pick at the time, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if they went CB early in the draft.

I do not think CB is our greatest need, but WIll Johnson at 9 would be BPA by a mile. Especailly if he crushes combine like he should. I think he is gone by 9 though. I am leaning towards Jeanty. Maybe not our greatest need, but he is going to be a stud. To be honest, this draft class appears to be pretty week across the board. CB is pretty strong class though.

I'm not but next season we really don't have a choice but to run it back with them.

RB is strong and deep in this draft. And, if Will Johnson goes before 9 it likely means another player better than Jeanty is falling to us like Graham or Carter.

EJ Henderson broke his femur and was back for opening day the following year. And because of the injury, Adebo will most likely get more interest ($$$) from the Saints than any other team.

IF the team is happy with his recovery, signing Adebo should be a big priority. That opens up the first and second round picks so you can come away with one pass catcher and one Dlineman with those two picks.

Most positions besides QB are pretty strong in this draft. I think because there aren’t a number of top QBs people think this is a bad draft class, not so. WR, TE, DL, OL, CB and S are strong in this class. RB not bad. Plenty of guys to build with.

Jeanty is a wasted pick without a dominating OL. Would rather sign Najee Harris from Pittsburg
