With the 9th Pick in the 2025 draft, who should the Saints select? (merged) (24 Viewers)

I said Bowers was worth a top 10 pick too and I also said that he was going to be drafted before we got to pick. So, trust me bro, I guess?

I get that football is entertainment, but you don't have to draft a playmaker in the first round this year to be entertaining if the value isn't there.
Yeah, draft BPA other than QB imo. If that's at a position we need help in, pick away.

See…. Now you just making stuff up…

Yes. But I figured I would break the circle and entertain myself. But I honestly don't find strong running games, big X WRs, or possession TEs that are good at blocking entertaining. I find winning entertaining and I just want the best players we can get at whatever position they play. If that's McMillan, Jeanty, or Warren great draft them. If it's Graham, Carter, Campbell, Banks, or Johnson, then great draft them. But, I suspect that Warren isn't going to be BPA.

I suspect if we draft another fat guy or DB in round 1 or 2…. We will score about the same amount of points as we did this year… next year.

Just the same guess I had last year…. Turns out I’m a good guesser.

I doubt it. I would expect more health for most of the team including the OL, Carr (if they don't go with Rattler), Olave, Shaheed, Kamra, Miller, and Taysom. That alone should lead to more scoring and hopefully we get a better OC that is not so conservative.

You just named the all injured or regularly unavailable or should probably retire all star team….

And, honestly, if we don't change the scheme to a more aggressive, pass oriented scheme, it's not going to be more exciting no matter who we draft in the first round.

I think Jeanty is a bit of a reach @ 9.
Our 2 biggest needs are 1, a big X WR that makes the contested catch. And 1a, a run stuffing DT that can push the pocket and free up Bresse to unleash his potential.

Our RB situation is not a big need, AK has at least 2 more yrs at the level he played last yr and if we can keep Miller healthy he has shown very good flashes. Maybe CEH can contribute and there are very good RBs available later

For those wanting Warren, yeah i want him as well but no way @#9

BPA is a myth. It's BPA at a position of need and has been for decades
I think Adebo comes back and with a yr of nothing but playing on the outside Taylor will be fine. Add in another yr of McKinstry improving CB is not a great need so I wouldn't take Johnson

Common ground there sir…. I’d like to hedge that bet with a guy or 2 that can put 6s on the board….

While BPA may be a myth, this team has so many needs, I'm not sure any position isn't a position of need. We have some good players, but I don't think there is a position where we don't need an upgrade and several where we really need a starter. In which case, BPA makes sense for this team.

Widge…. We gonna keep going in circles on this…. I think Warren is worth that pick too. I said last year that Bowers was also worth a top 10 pick…. He was. Warren is a different type of TE, but has a higher ceiling than Bowers because of his athleticism, size, and versatility. Bowers was more polished.

Reach and Value are terms for the draftniks that have to eat their words yearly.

Our current playmakers are old, getting old, injured, or injury prone. Doing nothing to immediately address that this year after spending a decade investigating in OL and DL primarily in round 1…. Is asking to be out scored, or lose one score games.

Also…. Again…. I like points…. And Football is entertainment.
Football is COMPETITION you want entertainment watch a movie. You would rather lose a game 44-47 than win a game 17-13
