A bad football team’s fans always need to have a mascot for the badness to throw stones at.

If ML was fired alongside DA at midseason, it would be Mrs. Benson catching the heat.
mrs. b catches heat all the time.

missing 14 starters, 3rd string qb with no wide receivers, lose by 3...

muh OUR OWNER IS A WOMAN!!!!!!!!! ROARRRR SHE designed closets.... ROARRRRR... she only cares about priests and stuff ROARRRRRRRRRRR

No doubt Loomis deserves the blame either way. But since he's not going anywhere right now, at least we know that if he ends up hiring the right coach that does evaluate players properly and does know how to build a roster Loomis will give him the roster he wants. Hopefully without adding void years and singing aging vets to big deals with void years. Of course, if he gets the hire wrong, he will also give the coach the roster he wants.

I'm not totally confident Loomis is going to get this rebuild totally right, but I do think he moved in the right direction last year by not maximizing the restructures and with the Lattimore trade. My main fear is that he's going to go YOLO again spending in free agency and trading up in the draft.
I have posted many negative things about trading up in the past. It sometimes works though. We traded our 5th and 6th
to move up in the 2nd round last year. We selected Kool - Aid and so far it's looking good. The Olave and Davenport
trade obviously didn't.

That's fair. It worked when they traded up for AK too. But, I do think on a team with so many needs and so little depth they should stop even doing deals to move up for late picks for a few years. We need all those picks for depth right now and no one player is really going to make that big of a difference in the results.

That is unless that player is a QB that turns out to be a franchise QB.

Kool-Aid became a starting CB by the end of the year. I don't think he should be in the Davenport dumpster fire of trades...
Kool-Aid really stepped up his play after the Lattimore trade...

As with everything in life some trades work...some don't.

But for the most part I'm like you, I don't like trading away draft picks.

Question for the math geniuses smarter than me. After all the cuts and restructures, how much money are we expecting to have under the cap to spend?

Kool-Aid did fine, but he was only a starter by the end of the year because they traded away Lattimore and Adebo broke his leg and was out for the rest of the season. It's not like he beat out the guys that were ahead of him.

But, sure, it wasn't a bad trade to trade up for him.

Jury still out. He ran hot an cold at times. Interested to see how he performs next year.

I agree. I think he did fine, but he didn't show up as a shutdown CB. Hopefully he develops and gets more consistent. He did look pretty good against Tampa, but I hope he gets better.

Yes, lol I even provided you an example. See below.

Meanwhile DA and Payton on multiple occaisions confrimed that final decision fell with them, the HC.

You don't think Loomis is competent, we get it...but man some of your arguments as to why you think he's incompetent are easier than you realize to poke holes in. You'd do better by just saying, I think another GM would do a better job.
Listen, this isn't rocket science. All you did was confirm he delegated those decisions to others. That was his choice to make as GM but he is responsible for those choices. And he isn't immune from criticism for those decisions either. You may think he shouldn't be accountable for that and that it's fine to pass the buck to Payton and DA who have since left, but I and many others don't.

He plays flat footed and sits too much. Takes too long to react and covers dead grass instead of jumping his man in zone. Hope he gets better for our sake, but the DB coach should have been all over him because those things are correctable. I hated watching him because those are things you can’t do as a DB.

Tampa Bay completely stayed away from his side...
There isn't any more of a compliment that a team can give you than this!
If he was doing that good they should have put him on Mike Evans for that last play.

Everybody is best friends in the NFL now...
There really aren't any true rivalries anymore...

No one mentioned it but Rice set the record with a shorter NFL season that have didn't near the amount of passing as today's game...
