You guys dating later in life have my respect. I don't have the energy for that.I will tell anyone I’m not looking for perfection and can’t offer it. We don’t get to this point in life without battle scars

Eh .....it's one thing to text someone you have some sort of established connection/relationship with but not 4 hours after meeting someone along with pet names. It's too much.Ahh dammit. thoughts of my recent ex are intruding. Something else I learned from our relationship is that I'm still a romantic. We sent those early morning/late evening texts @CapitalCitySaint referenced. Just "Hi, good morning! I hope you have a great day" or " I loved our talk tonight, sleep well"
Vivid memories of sleeping entwined with her, our faces inches apart. She did not snore, but slept with her mouth slightly open and took deep, slow breaths. She was captivating. I would look at her and kiss her softly.
For our second date I went to her house and we cooked Cajun salmon, rice, and asparagus. we drank some wine and walked her dog. During the walk, she took my hand and stopped, looked me in the eye and said "I really like you" We wrapped around each other on her couch and watched "Analyze This" with Robert DeNiro and Billy Crystal. Before I left her house that night, we agreed we only wanted to see each other to find out where the road would take us.
I can remember exactly the feel, sight, and smell of her. She had long, curly reddish-brown hair that fell halfway down her back. Beautiful figure, unbelievable she was 49 with 3 full-grown kids. During a walk in a local park we we kissed until our lips were chapped, and that happened more than one time. We talked almost every day, saw each other during the week, and said "I Love You" after two weeks.
We made plans, albeit vague, for the future. Then just like that it was gone, causing me to wonder if it ever truly was. A month and half later, yes it truly was. She was just to wounded to sustain the relationship, there was no malice.
I'm glad for the experience. Some go their entire lives without a relationship like this. Painful end but a beautiful beginning and middle.
I did read it and my heart goes out to you. Hopefully one day you can look back on the break up as the best thing that ever happened to you.Ain't no walk in the park Brother.
So to speak if you read my prior post

"we said I love you after two weeks" ....y'all sound codependent
Can't you just put your hand in your pocket?Dating is hard for me... coming up with more creative ways to hide it from my wife is a real challenge.
My point was only in the similar nature of the text, not the appropriateness of the text. He was way off base.Eh .....it's one thing to text someone you have some sort of established connection/relationship with but not 4 hours after meeting someone along with pet names. It's too much.

I know (or at least I think) you are joking but The most single men I meet are married. It’s really fascinating to see the ways in which they try, or don’t try, to hide it.Dating is hard for me... coming up with more creative ways to hide it from my wife is a real challenge.
