Chris Olave’s brother Josh Olave will be on Underhill live stream during PHI-GB wildcard game (1 Viewer)

Nah, it's more damning of the small WR who gets injured every time he gets tackled. It's a big boys game and so far he's proven that he can't handle the hits.
Agreed. It’s a much softer league now but still dangerous fo sho. Guess he just has to be thrown out of bounds on every play.
It's football. He's going to get hit. If he can't run every route and go across the middle, he's not a WR1. He's a WR2 or below if he has to be handled with kid gloves.

DeVonta Smith is smaller, goes across the middle and doesn't complain.
This. I don’t blame him for being injury prone at all, but it is what it is. I actually hope he walks away before he has another couple three of these and it damages him further. His life is way more important than football, not my call tho, or anyone’s but his, he’s a grown man. I wish him well either way.

Read an article earlier about Frank Wycheck having CTE, worried Chris is heading down the same path. Pun not intended.

Even before the injury issues I never thought of him as a #1. He’s always been a good 2 imo.

This is a bad look for Olaves brother and Nick.

Agreed.

It's not a popular opinion, but if Olave is healthy, trade him before the draft.

If we hire AG, the offense will either be the same or something similar to what Detroit runs and Olave doesn't fit that offense either. He's a finesse guy.

Would love to trade him, don’t think we’d get much tho. What do ya think, maybe a 4th?

Chris needs to tell his brother to stop talking. This isn’t helping his career.

Top WRs are expected to go over the middle and get hit. If Chris doesn’t want to do that, thats fine. He can have a more specialized role as a #2 and be paid accordingly.

But this whining about “hospital balls” is going to cost him a bunch of money and scare off teams who are already concerned about his long-term prospects. Also, Chris had no business not wearing a Guardian cap after his second concussion. That was his choice and it was a bad one.

Man, I disagree with a lot of you. Olave is now the best player on the team. They will pick up his 5th year option this Spring and look to build around him. He's going to be a big part of what the QB spot looks like going forward. If his brother wants to go on to Underhill's platform and speak his mind, so be it.

Actually, DeVonta Smith is usually going across the middle in space (his pass charts always shows his routes over the middle of the field followed by YAC). The passes that Olave usually gets crush across the middle are usually the balls that goes to AJ Brown. If we are being honest, Olave needs to be used more like Smith. And Olave doesn't complain; he puts his body on the line and get punished for it.

Top receivers are expected to catch the ball. Everybody is talking about going over the middle and get hit but every top receiver in the NFL is going over the middle with space and you rarely see catch and stop. Go look at Chase, Jefferson, Smith, Brown, and other WRs you think are "top receivers." Most of their catches are at the number and the routes across the middle are followed by YAC. We got it messed up trying to compare the throws and coverage that gets Olave blown up compared to other receivers.

No doubt. I see Chase shooting down the sideline for TDs more often than not.
We have to use Olave better.

Might be able to get a very late 1st or 2nd. I'd look at Houston who will probably be without Tank Dell next year and Diggs is old always wears out his welcome. Buffalo is another option. Miami would be an option since Hill will probably force his way out and they are super finesse.

It would be better for the Saints and for him if he just put on the muscle, got stronger and just evolved his game. He's smooth and a tactician who just happens to be fast. He can sacrifice some speed for size/strength which would compliment his route running and hands.

Nah that's a terrible look for Olave and his brother to whine publicly. Also how do you build around Olave? He's one hit away from retirement.
