Chris Olave’s brother Josh Olave will be on Underhill live stream during PHI-GB wildcard game (1 Viewer)

Might be able to get a very late 1st or 2nd. I'd look at Houston who will probably be without Tank Dell next year and Diggs is old always wears out his welcome. Buffalo is another option. Miami would be an option since Hill will probably force his way out and they are super finesse.
No team is paying anywhere near a 1st for a guy who is one hit away from retirement.

Best case would be a 3rd but even then that's unlikely.

Top receivers are expected to catch the ball. Everybody is talking about going over the middle and get hit but every top receiver in the NFL is going over the middle with space and you rarely see catch and stop. Go look at Chase, Jefferson, Smith, Brown, and other WRs you think are "top receivers." Most of their catches are at the number and the routes across the middle are followed by YAC. We got it messed up trying to compare the throws and coverage that gets Olave blown up compared to other receivers.
The idea that Chris Olave is the only WR who ever has a ball thrown high or slightly behind him is silly, and that seems to be the suggestion in these “hospital ball” discussions.

You can go find multiple plays this season where all those guys you listed got lit up over the middle. It’s going to happen. It happened with Carr. It happened with Rattler. It’ll happen with any QB Olave plays for because all QBs throw bad balls at times.

I mean, the big “hospital ball” in 2023 wasn’t even over the middle. It was a high pass Olave snagged on the sideline, and he wasn’t even hit by a defender.

He should be permanently wearing a guardian cap and his brother should stop trying to make himself the story. He’s gonna hurt Chris’ career.

Edit: Another point of information is that one of Olave’s concussions this year was a late cheap shot from the safety. It wasn’t even a bad pass.

Im convinced it's his narrow shoulders. Leaves absolutely zero space to for his head. It's almost impossible for defenders to not hit him in the helmet unless they go low.

I guess I don’t fully understand the “hospital ball” definition. Cam Newton threw terribly inaccurate balls, most often too high, and I don’t ever remember that (HB’s, not being inaccurate) being a criticism of his. I’d thorough understand the exact definition of a hospital ball

Some players are more predispositioned to concussions than others. Some linebackers and safeties tackle higher than others. Some QBs are more inaccurate than others. Some OCs call more shots over the middle than others and DCs know this and call their defensive calls accordingly.

If I was getting my eggs scrambled repeatedly, I would talk to the OC before the QB. JMHO.

i really dont think so
I applaud his optimism but I don’t share it. I think a 4th would be the ceiling.

💯.

It's football. He's going to get hit. If he can't run every route and go across the middle, he's not a WR1. He's a WR2 or below if he has to be handled with kid gloves.

DeVonta Smith is smaller, goes across the middle and doesn't complain.
This isn’t about Olave complaining though. He obviously continued to run whatever route or play was called and put his body on the line.

It is about whether we are using his skill set in the best way possible and getting the most out of him (which would help the team).

I would also say that those concussions didn’t really have anything to do with toughness or needing kid gloves. Those were brutal hits to the head. I don’t think it’s out of line to suggest that we can adjust the scheme to put him in better positions.

I would add that I do agree it is a bad idea if Olave’s brother is just going to light up the team, Carr, etc.

And I understand any argument that he’s a #2 instead of a #1 receiver; I just don’t think that really matters. I still think he has a lot of useful skills that we could put to better use.

Why does everyone assume that Josh Olave is going to go scorched earth? Didn't he kind of rollback his comments on the tweet machine?
