TE Juwan Johnson re-signed to 3-year deal (16 Viewers)

Man, talk about doing nothing to earn that type of contract. He’s blessed for sure bc he did absolutely nothing to earn that deal.
10m/yr is the 2025 market for 50 reception TEs.
Knox is getting a similar deal but produced about half of Juwan’s #s. I think Juwan can produce more with the new offensive staff.

I don’t disagree. I think there’s much more to his game than what we’ve gotten. It just seems he’s being paid on potential. We need more consistent results. I’m willing to hold off saying that it’s a bad deal. Only the future will tell us that, but I think he did little to earn a contract from us period. We shall see though, there is no denying there’s potential there.

These terrible contracts are going to have us stuck. I regret that we continue to act in the opposite way from what we ought to. Instead, I would try to see what I had on the roster, correct the cap, and avoid signing too many players. Then, pick my franchise quarterback in the high draft the following year, assemble the rest of the team around him, and return strong in 26 or 27. We are simply continuing to harm our prospects for success in the future. I wish I were mistaken.

Dude is one of the most inconsistent TE in the league.

Must be aiming for the No.1 pick next year.

Isn't that what many want? Even though they would still complain?

Like this past year, how can you say that you want the Saints to lose for a higher draft pick, but then still complain about losing? And complain when they win too? WTH.

Really isn't a terrible contract with the way it's structured and factoring in his dead cap charge gets taken off the books.

As for the cap it's basically already corrected. We're already good for 2026 and we have so few players on the roster in 2027 and so much cap room that we can basically do whatever we want and be fine. Factor in you won't be paying Carr and you'll paying a QB on a rookie contract (either Rattler or drafted) and we're fine.

Juwan Johnson is pretty decent receiving tight end. Those 50 receptions were with 64 targets. It seems the criticism is his weak inline blocking.

glad to know we wont be wasting a top 10 pick on a tight end. Many people making mocks with Tyler Warren...we don't need a TE that bad...
