Market value is your opinion. The jets courted him but that they were a serious suitor is your opinion. I never argued over the timing of his signing. And I never knew the chipotle thing until this year. I’m sure he initially wanted to be here. But in my opinion, he never loved it here. He didn’t fall in love with the fan base or culture. I don’t blame him, he loved the raiders and they broke his heart. I got the sense he was more guarded this time around. I don’t even think he should have loved it here. The transition away from Brees and Payton was botched. It wasn’t a good time to be the QB of the Saints.

Not a big deal to me. I don’t feel the need to go to bat defending the honor of Derek Carr. He will be an insignificant part of this team’s history in the long run. I hope he and his family are happy and healthy, which with his earnings, I’m sure they are.

It can be and most of the time is 1 source and multiple people quote the original source They ALL need / want clicks , likes and subscriptions , it how they get paid. The only pods that NOF does not put up on youtube are the Nickcasts and the non video ones thet Tripp does the one where he said that was on Youtube. . By that standard nobody can ever believe anything that is ever reported.

And all I'm saying is that it appears Carr no longer wants to be here and it makes a lot of sense considering how he is treated by much the fanbase. It doesn't mean he won't change his mind but that appears to be the situation right now.

I had a couple folks clowning all of my posts….I very rarely use those emojis as I try to be open minded as I can be….well I went and clowned a couple of their posts….they went to the mods and admins and reported me for doing so. Make that make sense?

I cannot even fathom going to admins, as an adult, for folks disagreeing with me, for clowning or facepalming me, especially if I had been doing that to them. forking fascinatingly funny to me. To even report that in the first place is less than juvenile to me. If you’re an adult doing that just wow! I digress….

Old Cowtown is close to being sent out of town on a rail, it’s kind of a weird victim mentality. But also like it sure seems after Brees this forum has become so sensitive to any negative comments about any player, justified or not, and with time proving things right or wrong, doesn’t matter, especially at QB, there is no allowable criticism because they are in a saints uniform.

To me that’s the delusional part really.

I honestly don’t understand how the mods allow people to obsessively clown and failcon posters for months and then when the poster has had enough they get suspended and threat of ban, it just makes no sense to me anyways.

No, it's not. That's a speculative assumption.

It looks and reads a lot more like an echo chamber of them all repeating what the other "reporter" is saying.

When they are saying "I'm hearing" they are talking about their colleagues. Notice they don't say "sources told me." It's always "I'm hearing" or "sources are saying." They don't want to be left out of the story, because they don't want to lose viewers which would cost them money.

Even if each of them has a source, all of them could be relying on the same person as their source.

Beyond that, none of the 5 have cited or mentioned the other reports.

Of course they haven't. That's not how it works. They all want to seem like they have their own sources. Their viewership depends on it. You wouldn't value what Underhill and Triplett say if you didn't think they have credible sources.

I really don't understand why people so badly want to think Carr wants to be here.

I really don't understand why so many more people so badly want Carr to not want to be here. Actually I do, it's because it fits their perspectives and opinions of Carr. It's textbook confirmation bias.

And to be clear, I don't blame him for not wanting to be here.

You choose to believe that Carr doesn't want to be here based on these very flimsy rumors, because you don't like that he's the Saints' QB. That's exactly how confirmation bias works.

And by the way, rumors are often repeated by multiple people who all say "I heard that..." That's exactly what's happening here.

Not a single one of these "journalists" have said that they reached out to Carr for comment. That's one of many reasons that they are not engaging in actual journalism. They are just fishing for clicks so they can pay their rents or mortgages. I don't fault them for that, I just see it for what it is.

"DC never had love for Saints fans" -- that's why he was on the sideline signing autographs for people in the stands during his very 1st preseason game with the team, and I believe he was the last one out there signing stuff for kids after the game was over.

What’s more bizarre to me is that to be a “real” Saints fan (to some of these posters) means to dog anyone associated with the Saints not named Derek Carr and Mickey Loomis. Literally every other player is fair game to these people.

He's NFL QB in a relatively small tv market who mas made millions over his career. This is not NYC or Philly. Unlike his brother who took an actual physical beating, this is nothing. For all the so-called "hate" that people mention on this board toward him, he is set for life with generational wealth, and I'm sure he and his family are not in any real danger. He'll probably make another 20-30 mil before he retires just a bridge QB/backup. It's not my fault he doesn't know the joy of a shrimp or roast beef po-boy from Parkway Deli.

LOL and if you were not from here or had been here multiple times other than for a quick works stop and needed to feed your kids and really didn't know the local cusine , would you take your kids to a bar in a not so great part of town for NOT the best po-boy ( Parasol's) in the city?

I don't think we're the only fan base like that, but I do think many of our fans like to think of us (collectively) as smarter, kinder, better, etc....and we're not. Many fans have become "what have you done for me lately", spoiled, etc. My first memory of watching Saints games is when Archie was a rookie. I've been through it all. For those that think this is bad, that Carr is bad, and so on....you just don't know. Is the current state of the Saints something to be concerned about? Yep. Is it bad? Compared to previous circumstances, no. Am I happy about it? No, but what upsets me is that I think much of it could have been avoided. It's water under the bridge now and we have to forge forward.

I could care less about where Carr ate his first meal. His family was comfortable eating Chipotle... they were not ready for red beans and rice, catfish and crawfish etoufee. So I totally understand. His kids may have run away screaming at the sight of a crawfish.

Carr is a good QB in this league, and he can drive the bus if he had a team around him. My only problem with him is we saw too many times where he was showing up his teammates. The thing with McCoy was an issue, and that thing where he went ballistic on Olave was just ridiculous. And there were plenty of times where he just refused to take accountability in his pressers it was always someone/something else.

That totally turned me off to him. Him not even showing his face at the super bowl may have sealed his fate with fans. I'm sure he wanted to "test the market", and he knows how the fan base (some not all) feel about him.

I'll root for him because he's the QB of my team, but I'd be lying if I said I like him as a football player... I don't know him as a person to dislike him. He seems to be a good father, husband and Godfearing man. I just wish he was some other team's QB.
