Oh yea big time, there is certainly a group of posters that have made an effort to report things, when they themselves are the most stalker like aggressively negative posters on here, now I try and balance it with a little pushback of my own but let’s just say I’ve been notified my brand of standing up to people isn’t welcome here.

Old Cowtown is close to being sent out of town on a rail, it’s kind of a weird victim mentality. But also like it sure seems after Brees this forum has become so sensitive to any negative comments about any player, justified or not, and with time proving things right or wrong, doesn’t matter, especially at QB, there is no allowable criticism because they are in a saints uniform.

To me that’s the delusional part really.

I honestly don’t understand how the mods allow people to obsessively clown and failcon posters for months and then when the poster has had enough they get suspended and threat of ban, it just makes no sense to me anyways.

I get it. Especially about the reciprocation of clowning as that’s what happened to me too.I very rarely use any clown or facepalm emoji because I’m the type of person who would rather tell you to your face lol. None of this is that serious tho to begin with imo.

Still love and support the place but it’s (d)evolved? in the 28 years I’ve been here. Think it’s all of society tho, not just here. I still appreciate the heck out of Mr. Whitewing, Dan and most other mods and admins here….I know it’s not always a fun thing to do, moderation and such. Lord knows ya can’t keep everyone happy, and I still cannot comprehend grown ups running to tattle on another grown up. Very very odd to me but to each their own lol. Think I’ve hit the report button one time in 28 years, that one was just too egregious for me to ignore.

Anyhow, should just be about having fun discussing our favorite team, trying to get to the top of that mountain even when we choose to take different paths.

I don't think we're the only fan base like that, but I do think many of our fans like to think of us (collectively) as smarter, kinder, better, etc....and we're not. Many fans have become "what have you done for me lately", spoiled, etc. My first memory of watching Saints games is when Archie was a rookie. I've been through it all. For those that think this is bad, that Carr is bad, and so on....you just don't know. Is the current state of the Saints something to be concerned about? Yep. Is it bad? Compared to previous circumstances, no. Am I happy about it? No, but what upsets me is that I think much of it could have been avoided. It's water under the bridge now and we have to forge forward.

45 year fan here too….and I agree with your sentiment. I don’t and have never felt this fanbase was any better than any other.

Jerks are in each and every one, I’ll never believe otherwise. Just as jerks are all around in society. Good people, bad people etc.

And yes, it’s been so much worse than this for our team. I say that often. We’re just viewed as old timers tho. lol

I know I’m certainly guilty of pushing the envelope on here a bit, it does kind of feel like when there is one extreme take, to balance it out you almost have to be as severe the opposite way. Your onto something with society I think, cause it kind of feels what way in here too now. Less and less common ground. Pushback on being critical leads to more criticism which leads to excuses on the other end that start to get out of hand. Then you slip up call a couple people jerks and your in big trouble

I’ve no dog in this fight as I couldn’t care less who’s right or wrong, and don’t claim to be on the right side….having said that it’s literally a fan forum for folks to discuss all things about their favorite wrestler, errr football team.

It’s all entertainment and it is the literal purpose of the board. Fan how ya want to, whether that be a middle or the road fella or fellette, or an extreme sunshine pumper, or an extreme Debbie downer.

I get the feeling you don't understand why some are so passionate. It's not the team or the players it's the city/state/ country they represent. If N.O./ LA had a tiddly winks team I would be rooting for them to win. I could never be a real supporter of ANY team of any sport that did not have N.O./LA ties

Market value is your opinion. The jets courted him but that they were a serious suitor is your opinion. I never argued over the timing of his signing. And I never knew the chipotle thing until this year. I’m sure he initially wanted to be here. But in my opinion, he never loved it here. He didn’t fall in love with the fan base or culture. I don’t blame him, he loved the raiders and they broke his heart. I got the sense he was more guarded this time around. I don’t even think he should have loved it here. The transition away from Brees and Payton was botched. It wasn’t a good time to be the QB of the Saints.

Not a big deal to me. I don’t feel the need to go to bat defending the honor of Derek Carr. He will be an insignificant part of this team’s history in the long run. I hope he and his family are happy and healthy, which with his earnings, I’m sure they are.

I don’t think anyone really cares about the Chipotle thing or holds that against him — that’s just silly. I think his apologists actually bring it up more than anyone else.

I’m in agreement that the board has gotten a bit touchy. I got so tired of being randomly flagged that I went torched earth in a thread just so the previous infractions felt justified.

I’m careful about what I say and it’s almost uncomfortable. Having been here since 06 things very much feel different

Yet it appears to be in alignment w/ the current layout of the world. So shrugs is what it is I guess

I may have not come across well, don’t misconstrue, I feel the same. I’ve been many times and love the city, love the connection the team has with the city.

I wasn’t born there and don’t live there but I love New Orleans. And it’s people.

I was a very passionate Who Dat for a very long time, looking back I was a fool as it impacted my marriage, my work, my friendships, every facet of my life.

It’s all just entertainment to me now since the Super Bowl win but I still have passion.

Many people are lacking a sense of humor. Carr was actually always kind of made fun of before he even came here bc he is kind of corny. Playful jabbing gets twisted by his defenders into something it is not.
