Saints making a push to sign Cooper Kupp [Cooper Kupp signs with Seahawks to a 3-year, $45 million deal]

I'm only on the first page of this thread while typing this, but I can't find any news on Becton at all. I searched yesterday and the day before for any talk of Becton visiting or talking to any teams. I can't find anything. Either I really suck at searching for sports news or Becton is running silent and deep.

Maybe he's asking for more than anyone is willing to pay?

That’s usually the case…his agent probably has him priced out currently and teams are waiting him out.

We've already seen the impact of one player dying on the field recently, but he was revived. Olave with his concussion issues is a disaster waiting to happen. He's got the concussions from being hit and from hitting the ground so he needs to stop getting hit, but that's hard to do in tackle football. I like that he said he was going to work on strengthening his neck, that should help with some of the whiplash when he smacks his head on the ground. I think he should put on about 10-15lbs of muscle as well. Even if he loses a step, he'd be more durable and since he's a precise route runner and tactician he'd be lethal at 205lbs.

He could go on and never have another concussion again, but I wouldn't take that bet.
I think the ideal situation would be for Olave to be the offensive back breaker. Usually, when a team has a back breaker it's the FB. Basically, it would be great if Moore could build an offense that would make Olave the guy that the defense can't really account for, because they have to account for the other 4 guys first.

That would create space for Olave to be able to avoid or brace for hits. He'd also be deadly in that role.

If you watch this snap shot of Kellen Moore’s offense, he seems to lean on the run a lot, and have two TEs in the game a lot as well.

I agree with this. Moore schemed Smith wide open in Philly. I think he can do the same here.

This is where Jeanty at 9 makes sense. Add Jeanty to the backfield to assume RB1 carries allows AK to evolve to more of a weapon who is also a RB. That's 2 players for a defense to account for. A Big X WR (Savion Williams/Jayden Higgins/Tre Harris) would be 3. Shaheed could be the 4th, but I like a Big Z, maybe Dont'e Thornton out of Tennessee. Some think Tre Harris could be a Big Z since his route tree is limited right now, but he doesn't have the top end speed. A receiving threat at TE would also be an option and CKM has shown to use them, JJ or Moreau could fill the roll if we don't add someone in the draft.

I think there are options to do exactly as you are saying. The goal would be to keep Olave clean. The good thing is his speed and route running would help keep him clean as well depending on the play design.

That's going to be based on the personnel. If you go back to his entire career as OC, he has leaned on the passing game as well as the run game. I don't think he's going to force a specific type of attack. He's going to lean on our best players and put them in the position to win matchups whether it's the run game or the passing game.

It'll be great if Moore can get that kind of blocking with the Saints. They have several runners that I think could have big runs behind that kind of blocking.

Based on what you pointed out, the Saints are close to having the players that would allow Moore to move all 5 eligible receivers on play all over the offense alignment.

I think so. I'm pretty optimistic on where this team can go fairly quickly. I like the additions in FA and via trade as it's opening things up for the draft to get difference makers.

And if you look at Moore's offense in Dallas you'll see a lot more 11 personnel (1 TE 1 HB) and he throws the ball all over the yard. He's dynamic... his "offense" adapts to his personnel.

I'm in agreement with those who think that improving the OL is the most important thing on offense. My fingers are crossed they will have the offensive linemen they need by the time they get to training camp.

Signing Becton would make a huge difference on the O-line. I also like drafting Belton in the mid rounds.

I agree, and I love Dont’e Thornton 6’5” 205 ran a 4.3 at the combine.

Would be pretty cool.
Kellen Moore-Prosser Washington
Scott Linehan-Sunnyside Washington
Cooper Kupp-Yakima Washington
All 3 15-20 minutes apart along the same freeway.

I’m all for that! I think there are a bunch of NFL defenses out there that are undersized and ready to be taken advantage of by the running game. Oh yeah, they are fast and can cover but they can’t tackle and don’t want to tackle period. They actually avoid tackling like the running back has the plague or something! You build an offense that can dominate in the running game you will eat up all the clock and wear teams down physically into submission. You just need a coach that makes a decision to stick with the run. Of course you need big OLineman and probably 3 physical running backs (Skettabo) and 3 TE’s that block their arse off. These defenses around the league are primed for the plucking! We just need a coach that will commit to it. Enter Kellen Moore.
