“3 Body Problem,” Netflix (1 Viewer)

The Amazon version "Three-Body" is supposed to follow the text more closely, but I don't know, haven't read it yet. It is a very different style of production than the Netflix version, with way more focus on fewer characters and their development.

I liked the Netflix series, and the Amazon one takes a little getting used to as far as speed and progression. I'm only on episode 9 so far.

Wait wait wait. There is an Amazon version of this show?!!!

Definitely plan to tune-in to that.

I very much enjoyed it and look forward to where they head. I am not familiar with the source material, so no clue how faithful they have stayed--or will. I love thought provoking stuff that centers around sci-fi. The characters were flushed out very well imo. I enjoyed most of them. My least favorite was Auggie w/ the bangs that did the nanofiber. Everything is pretty much a mystery and that's cool. I guess I just wonder if the San-Ti are so technologically powerful then why not utilize the sophon things to eradicate humans to prepare for their eventual arrival?
The other things I am left wondering about:
Is the original Chinese researcher that made contact (what a dumb move btw) in fact dead?
Why did they let Wade and forces wipe out their cult?
They seem to fear our rapid scientific progress...but they haven't really been offing scientists like they claimed they were going to (other than the attempt on Saul)--or is it that we just haven't seen it, since the first few episodes?
It's pretty troubling thinking about poor Will just hurdling aimlessly to nowhere...

Are they still going to the moon for a base even with project staircase failing?
How in the hell are they going to actually be able to protect the wall facers??

All in all I really liked it, probably a solid 8.5 or even 9 outta 10 for me--even with the pace slowing near the end of the season. Hopefully it won't be a crazy long wait for S2?

If I’m remembering correctly, she was the least strong among the actors by far
