2025 NFL Draft Prospects (2 Viewers)

That rematch game against the Panthers is looking like it will be for all the losers marbles.

BTW…seeing DL Mason Graham being mocked to us at this spot. Time to study up on the young man’s career.

Watch, we'll beat Carolina, then the Raiders. Just enough to make sure we don't get a top 5 pick and keep DA as HC.

I'm hoping for Graham in the 1st then Wilson center from Georgia in the 2nd. We'll move the center to guard as per our normal approach.

This is correct.

The Saints had a deal in place to swap places with the Rams, acquire additional 2nd and 3rds in 2024 and 2025 had Bowers fallen to 14.
Yeah I’m not in the crowd that thinks Loomis can’t turn it around. He hired Payton, he hired Ireland to revamp draft. He’s made good decisions in almost every era (or SB windows we’ve had)as GM, and like any other GM there’s going to be some bad ones.

Hard to argue however when you look at the # of games won between 2006-2024. I could be wrong but I’m sure he’s in top 10 in games won during that time.

I think he’ll need to make the tough decision w/ Allen, whom he seems to have a soft spot for. If he can get over that hurdle, I’m sure it can be turned around

Wanna know something funny?

Guess which two GMs among all actives have the second highest and first highest percentages of Pro Bowl players drafted...

Roseman and Loomis

This year Loomis has drastically restrained his spending and had a trade deal in place to net the Saints a total of 4 additional early round picks over 2 years.

The fan in me craves blood, but the calculated part of my brain thinks Loomis sees no point in firing a personal friend now when it would not change anything for this season's fortunes.

That’s exactly how I see it.

We’re actually 5th in wins since 2006. So Loomis deserves more respect than he’s currently getting. Allen didn’t (though I was one who threw out Raiders record), but Mickey deserved as much grace as Sean.

There are two facts about our current situation.

1. We’re spoiled as fans
2. Loomis and Co haven’t
done a good job since 2017

Right coach, right QB. Loomis can take his 3rd swing at it at the end of the season.

Drew Payton was first swing and he nailed it. Allen/Carr is his second swing and so far meh.

Whats more likely though…is Allen gets a 4th year and Loomis tries to accumulate 3-5 picks in top 100 and they address their depth issues. I think when Allen got this job, the cap, dead money, and roster status probably didn’t make this a great spot. No QB, no top 10 pick, no money to remake roster.

So Loomis knows exactly the situation Allen inherited and such is the reason he defends him. Allen is a shield of sort for how badly the team was managed between 2018-2022

If you look at the draft numbers, the Saints have drafted well. They're consistently getting starters. The problem is their draft strategy and the guys they missed on, they missed badly. For example, 2.4 picks in the first three rounds per draft since 2017. That right there says they're picking less in the first three rounds than a normal pick allotment would give. I'm not gonna act like I'm some draft expert who knows who will hit and who will bust, but I spent a lot of time when I was at FS1 crunching numbers for trends and the draft numbers say rounds 1-3 are where teams can expect to find starters. The third round is about a 50% rate and the fourth round drops all the way down to 30%. The Saints trading away picks with a solid chance of success definitely hurts, even worse when they whiff.

Of those whiffs, the most notable is Davenport. Davenport cost the 1 they used to draft him and the 1 they used from the future. To then whiff is brutal. Turner is another first round miss and things are not looking good for Foskey. That is a total of three first round picks and a second round pick making no impact. That is catastrophic.

Even with that, they consistently get starters and solid contributors as long as they aren't targeting an edge rusher. Pro Bowl players are drafted league wide at a less than 10% rate, so knocking anyone for not regularly drafting Pro Bowls is like expecting someone to regularly pick the winning lottery numbers.

The biggest hole in their drafts has been attempting to address the Edge rusher position. I think they need to hyper-analyze that and change how they evaluate that position group.

I was big fan of Nic Scourton when he was at Purdue. Then he transferred to A&M he kind of git a rough patch after the week 1 game vs ND. Weeks went by, then i watched A&M vs ARK. Dude! Scourton literally took over that game & sealed the deal on ARK’s do or die final possession.

Ive watched football for as along as i can remember, & ive havent seen a guy dominate a game as throughly as Scourton did vs ARK in a longtime. He had 2sacks, one on a 3rd down, & a sack strip/fumble to seal the W. His pressure ability is exactly what dont have on D. Scourton has violent hands, speed to power, spin moves, & a nasty bullrush. & the dude is 6’5 280. He reminds me a lot of Justin Houston, but bigger & more athletic.

Abdul Carter, Mykel Williams, & James Pearce are some of the other popular names at EDGEs who could go high, but theyre all lighter guys in the 250-260 range. I think Pearce is even lighter, in the 240s. If we’re drafting in the top 10, lose out or pass on Tetairoa Mcmillan, i hope our guy’s Nic Scourton.

Love him, would be a great pick to put at LDE and move granderson back to RDE where he belongs
