A few of my favorite things (or at least one) (1 Viewer)

Actually posted this earlier today on the Gameday thread to a guy in that thread who said that he’s coming to a Saints game from Tokyo.. thought this might not be a bad place to repost just in case the dude i met sees it, ya never know :

I spent six months working in Asia earlier this year.. i had never set foot on the entire continent of Asia before; my first stop was NRT airport in Tokyo.. I disembarked the plane, stepped into the airport, and the very first person i see is an Asian guy wearing a Saints ballcap.. i was wearing a Saints tshirt, so i gave him a ’Whodat!’ .. i hoped he would understand me.. he shouts back ‘Where ya at, baby ?!’.. turns out he was on vacation in Japan and getting ready to catch a flight back to NOLA, and lives on the West Bank…. that’s a true story.. if that guy happens to read this, let me know !

My advice, as someone who detests everything about flying- just be prepared .. prepare for the suckage.. dont plan anything for the 24 hrs or so after you land, so that you can rest and recuperate .. for me, the flight was Houston to Tokyo to Bangkok.. the Houston to Tokyo leg was 15 hrs.. make sure you download lots of podcasts on ur phone.. have lots of music.. earplugs and an eye mask are a must.. i had one of those neck pillows that you can get on Amazon for like $20 but never used it since the airline provided a fresh one .. best if you can take some herbal or OTC supplements to promote sleep.. i usually cant sleep on planes, but on flights that long i sometimes can.. i wear jeans, and I always keep my passport in my jeans pocket- not in my backpack or anywhere else- since you never want to find urself in a foreign country without ur passport .. ill post more stuff if i can think of anyhting .
I always take Dramamine. I can sleep through several landings and takeoffs.

That’s funny
I randomly ran into two friends (2 different times) in Narita

If that’s the case, then i honestly dont understand your problem with long plane trips , or surviving them .
Well, cos I'd have to take a LOT more of it. And I'd eventually have to wake up and re-enter the land of the living in a hopefully tan, rested, and ready outlook and I just don't see that happening. I've traveled with myself. It's no picnic.

I didnt make it to Vietnam but i hear there are nice beaches and good food.. a buddy of mine recently got married to (or moved in with ?) a Vietnamese woman and loves it there.. they have a 3 yr old son.. he‘s like 55 , so starting a family late, but of course she is like half his age .

Apologies if im repeating myself since i know ive covered some of this here a couple months back- but even though i spent time all over Thailand and in the Philippines (with short stops in Japan and Singapore)- i was surprised that i liked Bangkok the best out of all the places i visited.. im not into the red light districts or the whores (though i dont judge those who are, it’s just not my thing).. i dont even drink- but i loved the big city energy, and the low crime, and the parks, and the food, and (with apologies to Mar(cia)) the normal Thai women , the low cost of living etc etc…. I’ll be curious to see what you think .
ưe have already bought tickets to LÀ and will stay a couple of days there. It looks like LÀ to Singapore is the best route and we may stay in Singapore a day.

This isn’t the thread I thought it would be. I thought I was Painting a picture of me as Oprah Winfrey or MJ. But I guess I can make it that thread.
