A little annoyed by Vilma (4 Viewers)

I got the sense that he was forcing it.
At the end he was so overcome with emotion he could barely speak after a big play by the Saints. He was loving what he saw

Is it just me, or did he kind of sound like a Falcon fan most of the game? I understand the need to impartial, but geez....
The FALCLOWNS were actually dominating the game for three quarters. There simply wasn't anything to brag about the Saints to that point. One thing I did remember was when they were talking about the Saints defense and how they didn't seem flustered and looked calm and determined. They weren't on the sidelines in panic mode. They pulled themselves together and went about the business at hand. I thought that was a very good observation on the part of the announcers. The defense definitely played well down the stretch.

Does feel like he’s trying to be fair and balanced. But man, if Aikman and Buck can be so blatantly biased for Dallas or Tom Brady why can’t we get a homer on national broadcasts too?

True, but I wonder if you can acknowledge that without sounding overly happy about it.

What do you expect from the commentator who's doing color? As I posted on the gameday thread:

1. He likes defense.
2. He's doing color for a national audience (or at least audiences in 2 States)
3. The Saints didn't give him much to praise for 3 and 1/3 quarters.

If you didn't understand why he was saying the things he was saying when he said them, it's going to be hard to get you to understand now.
Calling me stupid? I've worked decades as a communications director. You can easily understand why someone is saying something and be critical of the way he is saying it. Or, maybe that's something *you* can't understand.

I have no issue with anything beyond he is not a talented announcer. I didn’t think he was unfair towards the Saints etc. He called the game. There was no real value. He brought nothing to the table. He is not creative, doesn’t speak particularly well etc. Now to be fair I fell the same way about most of these ball players turned announcers.

I didn't notice anything bad or great about anything...it was a game announced by a couple guys. Maybe that means he did a good job because I didn't even know it was Vilma to have expectations of him being biased.

I guess good Job JV!
