Everyone keeps saying the new coach can win with Carr. Based on what? His 3 seasons out of 11 that he didn't have a losing record?

He kind of did. He went on to say they would hire a coach with a shared vision. So if Carr is part of the front offices vision then they wouldn't hire a coach who didn't share that vision. Seems to be a way of empowering the next coach by choosing a coach that want to do exactly what the front office wants.Loomis said the new coach will decide on the QB.
I agree, Most coaches want their own QB, Carr is not an impediment but a bridge. Those QBs in place at other teams may or may not be their pick. One thing for sure, we have room to let the new coach pick his own. Carr can have a good year and show out with some younger draftees or not, in which case he’s gone next year. 2026 has a better group of QBs to pick from ( from early predictions).I think that Carr is waaay down the list in terms of impediments to a hire-- roster age and cap are going to be greater concerns. Heck, I think that Carr is a minor to moderate plus for a coaching candidate, not a minus. Sure, any incoming coach would like a blue-chip QB on a rookie deal, but a coaching candidate would probably have a long wait if that were his requirement.
And, Rouxble, that was pretty funny, but all we know is that either the receiver or Carr had the wrong route in mind-- we don't which one was wrong. Carr was clearly thinking a come-back/hitch.
