Is hiring Aaron Glenn as head coach a smart move or a step backward for the Saints? I break down his potential and what it means for the team. Enjoy!!

I honestly don't understand the appeal of Glenn. When he was here, I didn't think the DB play was all that great; it actually seemed to get better after he left. I also question the overall defensive performance of the Lions during his tenure there. I know they have some injuries this year, but that performance last night AT HOME was an example of why I would be lukewarm on Glenn.

I don't know, maybe he's a master motivator and a rare example of a guy being a better head coach than coordinator?

Fair
With how they have played all year despite the key injuries, I'll give him a pass for what happened last night.

If Aaron Glenn is the best candidate after thorough due diligence, then so be it, but he shouldn't be given special consideration because of the past. We've tried that. We need to hire the best coach available and get some quality help around him (in the locker room and in the front office).

I would seriously consider Glenn if he kept Kubiak and the entire offensive staff. Our OL and AK and Miller if he can stay healthy is built to run KK's system. Glenn has gotten about as much as anyone could out of the Lions D with all the injuries

I just prefer an Offensive minded coach. DA, Jim Haslet.. we don't need Glen to follow. I'd take Glen as a DC, but he wouldn't give up a sweet DC to come to NO as DC
Probably wouldn't happen but he could return as DC if the Asst HC title came with it.

I've never actually looked into it, so i may be wrong, but Coordinators aren't usually Asst HCs, isn't one of the position coaches usually Asst Head coach? not sure of the reason for that...

It would scare me if they went back to the Sean Payton tree, but he could be a great HC.

Time will tell, after watching Ross Jackson's entire podcast series on HC candidates, I think I'm a Jesse Minter fan.

Probably b/c they coordinator already has enough on their plate and they aren't able to take on the additional responsibilities as it would take away from their gameplanning. A position coach would have more available bandwidth to assume additional duties. A ST Coordinator as Assistant HC makes sense b/c ST Coordinators already address the entire team so adding Asst HC if their are capable makes sense.
