The problem isn't Mariah herself, it's the ubiquitous nature of the song.

For example, I love Andy Williams. But the overuse of "It's The Most Wonderful Time..." has literally made me not want to listen to it at all. It was even used for an allergy commercial in the Spring and maybe even some other commercials. Ugh.

This is amazing – I was certain I was gonna get knocked out right away because I heard the song a couple times in November, including with my kids playing on their iPad. But somehow, when December rolled around, I’ve managed to avoid it.

Predictably ded. What happened?

After work I went to my parents place (they live here now) to bring them something and have a glass of wine. They had a holiday radio channel on but I wasn’t thinking about it. We were just hanging out and I was talking about something - but my subconscious noticed that we were halfway through the song.

I stopped in mid-sentence and said “crap”. My dad said “what?” I said “I just lost” and hung my head.
