I'd say this was an agreement between Kamara and Goodell. Otherwise the league refers it to the Disciplinary Officer for a decision. Also there was a report that Pash (leagues lawyer) was brought in at the end of the meeting. I believe that was to get it in writing so there won't be an appeal.

Jus got off the phone with my sister, who knows her Saints football! I told her the 3 game suspension was good by me, but wondered if he would appeal n try to bring down to 2.

She said she thought it was possible, but added what IF that meant the suspension would then take place in the middle r late in the season? She feared it might well take away from any chemistry n rhythm the team had built up, n then AK n the O might have to “ start over” once he got back.

So she figures it’s probably better the suspension be served early at the start of the year, get it over with, n move on. Moreover, she thinks the team is happy n fully behind DC4 as their QB1, so the O should b fine til AK gets back. Moreover, the team brought in Jamaal Williams. so I’m hopeful/optimistic he can give us the same amount of touches, about 15-20 a game, that AK did.

But IMO, the RB to keep an eye on now will no doubt be 3rd rd pick Kendre Miller. Ironically, I jus posted about Kendre in another thread, n said I think he’s gonna be a good player for us this season. But IF Kamara’s suspension begins early in the season, the rook’s now gonna have to “step up” n play well outta da gate!

Kamara said in an article I read he should've took the advice Tony Dungy gave players and it's same thing my dad told me when I was younger. Be where you are gonna be by midnight. Nothing good happens after midnight. This with Kamara happened at 5am. Unless you are at work if you are at home stuff like this doesn't happen. Taught my kids the same thing.

Exactly, you would have thought they was going to reopen Alcatraz just to house Alvin Kamara by how people were reacting to his legal situation.

It was almost like they wanted to see him do time in prison.

Probably about as good as could be hoped. As much as they've overused him the last couple of years I think it will actually benefit him and the team for the offense to have to rely on other backs for a little while.
