I had 4 appealed down to 3 as my guess, so apparently his meeting with Goodell went really well.

I thought the same thing. When everything regarding the trial was all said and done, I felt that the most that he was going to get was 4 games. Glad it worked out for all involved and we still have him for majority of the season.

Lol we went from a forecast of 100% jailtime to a 3 game suspension. And it wasn't even jailtime. People were talking about the dude doing serious time in prison. Hard labor or 23 hour lockdown.

I can live with a 3 game suspension. And it's not like we'll be facing murder's row in the 3 games he's out. This backfield is going to be something else when he returns. Can't wait.

That's not bad. I had 6 appealed down to 3-4 after he took the plea deal mainly b/c 6 was the baseline per the player conduct policy and what he plead down to was on the list of charges. He secured the 3 by going to kiss the ring earlier this week and probably agreed not to appeal.

Either way, our RB room is nasty going forward.

Divisional round
NFC Championship
Super Bowl

No one has mentioned it yet but not only is the amount of suspended games very fair , we know whats happening before preseason even starts so we dont have to have this hanging over Alvin and the team plus it gives our coaches plenty of time to prepare the other backs for the first 3 games in the game plan. Perfect

It's not bad, but the best part is knowing what the punishment is going into the season. Much easier to prepare this way than learning about it mid-season.

I think part of what helped with his meeting with Goodell is he admitted his mistake and owned it. Go in there with the mentality I didn't do anything wrong and it was the other guys fault, it may have ended worse. Admit your mistake, learn from it and move on.
