Alvin Kamara suspended for 3 games (1 Viewer)

I can live with that.

To answer a question some of you asked, the 3 games was agreed to by Kamara, so there will be no appeal.
Yeah, no lie, I was good with the 3 game suspension, but I DID hope he could appeal n MAYBE get it down to 2.

But “upon further review” :

I now think the 3 game suspension n it’s terms WERE likely agreed upon by both sides in AKs meet with Roger. It’s probably why, as was reported, that one of the NFLs lawyers only came in at the END of the meeting. He took their verbal agreement n put it writing. AK then likely sent it, along with his consent/approval to its terms to his lawyers, the NFLPA n the Saints organization for their input.

But hey I’m no lawyer so wat da hell do I know! 😂😂😂

I just hope he can regain some of what he had. If we are being honest, he looked best probably when he was a rookie.

I think 3 games is fair and that Kamara agreed in New York not to appeal this suspension.

One minor thing, but I think important. When the league cut down days happens, the Saints have, in effect, an extra roster spot. Kamara does not count on the roster, so for 3 weeks the Saints can protect one more player from being poached off of the practice squad by keeping that player on the active roster. The way things work, you figure somebody will hit IR during the first 3 weeks so that actually could have an impact. That could mean, one player who would have been poached, won't be poached.

Off the top of my head, the last time I remember thinking he looked great was the Christmas night game against the Vikings in 2020. And he was strong in 2018 for sure - lost in the heartbreak over the no-call in the NFCCG was Kamara had a great receiving game that day. He also dominated the Seahawks in Teddy's first start in 2019.

But for me, the last two years he hasn't seemed like the same force. The numbers seem to bear me out, too. He had exactly 81 receptions in 2017, 18, and 19 (eerie consistency there). He had 83 in 2020. He had 47 in 2021 and 57 in 2022. His YPC rushing were: 6.1 in 2017 (a career high in YPC but also by far his fewest carries in a season), 4.6 in 2018, 4.7 in 2019, 5.0 in 2020, 3.7 in 2021, 4.0 in 2022. He did carry the ball more in 2021 and 2022, which indicates maybe he's best when not shouldering the burden of an entire rushing attack.

It's not likely, it's a straight up fact that both sides agreed to the terms, that's why there is no appeal process.
