Amazon Prime increasing rates (2 Viewers)

I'l think I've watched two shows on Netflix in like the past six months: Cobra Kai and Cowboy Bebop (which was horrid.). I barely use it. Their service is just stacked with mediocre garbage I have no interest in sifting through to find something watchable. And so many of their originals are just poor quality. I'm strongly considering ditching it. It has become the service I use the least.
I think I would say this about any of the services if I kept them for more than 3 months at a time. Even HBOMax, which is probably the best of all of them, I ran out of content that interested me after 4 months of it. I would still say Netflix is easily number two in content. Who would you rank higher?

I'd rank Disney+, Prime, and HBO Max all well above Netflix at this point.

Depending on how niche your interests are, Funimation is still miles ahead in terms of anime despite Netflix making a huge push into that sphere lately.

HBO we agree on. Disney I guess it depends on if that’s your favorite type of content - I think it’s a lot of bang for your buck and I like it but it’s not my favorite type. I would definitely beg to differ on Prime. And Hulu and Prime I’d probably put on the same level.

Netflix isn't worth what I pay for it honestly. I barely watch it, but I feel like if I don't have it I'm missing out. That's how they get you.
I'm the same way. I did watch The Witcher recently tho. That was pretty fun. But I'm about to cut my service with them. I'm content with Disney+, HBO Max and Prime.

We really only use Prime for shipping, but our son recently started using the music service. We’ll keep paying the fee because I’m sure the cost savings are still lower if we factor in, fuel, time and impulse purchases if we went to a store to get stuff we buy on Amazon.

Yeah, this would be the main downside as one of my daughters uses it frequently for that reason. I don't think she'll protest too much because she can view some of that on other platforms.

I do the Disney Hulu ESPN+ bundle. For $13.99/month, its got a pretty good variety of stuff and I can catch Cajuns sports here and there when I feel like checking it out.

Disney has a ton of content I like, Marvel and Star Wars have ongoing series in addition to new movies every so often.

Netflix is falling off big time for me. Prime has been meh lately. I'm just looking forward to the Jack Ryan season 3 release. I don't think there's an exact date yet tho. Currently watching The Boys, so that's a fun distraction as well.

I had the bundle and could not find a single use for ESPN. Hulu had a couple of good series, but if I could still do sit coms at all it would have been a whole lot more useful. Disney is pretty good. I watched all the Star Wars stuff even though I never was the biggest fan. Marvel I also watched the bulk of but I tend to like the fringe stuff rather than the typical super hero stuff - like the stuff that kind of laughs at itself. The Ant movies, Dead Pool and I really liked Wanda TV. The Boys to me is the best of the Superhero movies (and right now its the only thing I can think of worth while series wise on Prime). So I think the point is that each can be great depending on the type of content you are into. I tend to get the most into shocking drama. GOT, Breaking Bad and I'm currently really digging Ozark. And my perspective may be skewed because I use them all but never for more than a few months. So when I roll back around to them its like getting back together with an old girlfriend who was really good at that one thing :kgo-057:

That's an awful lot of maintenance.

not really. it takes maybe 5 minutes or less to cancel and/or resume a subscription.
maybe some other services make it more difficult, but w/ amazon it is pretty simple.

I feel like netflix is more interested in quantity vs quality

Good stuff. Yeah, I can understand the ESPN part. I think it's good for college or other niche sports, but not really useful outside that. Hulu, there were several series I hadn't seen that are on there, Homeland was pretty great, I did watch Prison Break and a few other series a while back, and of course Dopesick was worth the watch. I might start a rotation like what you're doing, but I kinda just want to stick with a few services. I hate messing with the services. Idk why.

yea I can see the reservations. But they keep your info so its like 10 minutes to get back on. I set a reminder before they bill again and Ill see what's left on my watch list. If there is still plenty I keep it another month. If not, there is always one of them calling my name because of a new season of something. But I do all the changing from my PC with my passwords saved. I don't find it to be much hassle at all, doing that every few months or so. But then I live alone, if you have multiple people on the accounts I imagine its hard to all agree when to switch.
