Andrew Whitworth was on a podcast after he retired, he talked about how difficult playing on the offensive line is and how one of the biggest fan misconceptions is how "easy" it should be to transition to a different position on the line. Even something as "simple" as moving a LT to LG is not even close to being as easy as people believe it should be.

I’m not giving up on him yet, but I won’t fault others for doing so. Given his injuries/games missed, he’s clocked a little more than a rookie in terms of minutes. Ruiz took 3 seasons before stepping up.

Not saying Trevor will definitely get it together. I’m just exercising some patience with his development.

That probably was more so due to Drew. Not saying we didn’t have some great players on our OLine, but having a Brees, Brady, Rodgers type under Center can definitely mask many OLine deficiencies.

Yeah, this was the stupidest move by the organization, and is up there with drafting Ruiz to play guard (rather than center). Why we do this can only be explained by we love shooting ourselves in the foot when it comes to the draft.

Since removing Penning at LT the OLine has gotten consistently better from week to week... Shocker! I told ya'll slow feet and bad technique is a recipe for QB death at LT. Penning needs a year on the bench, with a treadmill, a boxing instructor, and a ballet dancer. If that don't work... trade him next year if you can... or move him to G.

I’m suggesting we made a stupid draft pick. If you want to draft a guard then draft a guard, don’t draft a left tackle and force him to play guard.

Similar to Ruiz. If you want to draft a guard, then don’t take a center and move him to guard.

When TA left we should have taken the season to see what we had in Peat at L lT instead of trading for El Busto.

Man… you guys are worse than the media with creating narratives.

The dude missed his entire rookie season and the entire offseason because of a couple injuries. Add that to the fact that he came from a super small and he is behind.

Hopefully, he develops the rest of the season and this offseason… I do agree that if he isn’t starting next year, we have a problem.

This is what happens when you start drafting need over BPA. You reach. The draft isn't a damn grocery store. When you're on the clock, grab the best player you can regardless of position. In the long run, they will help the team better than taking the guy you took just because you needed a tackle. Where did that get the Saints? Still needing a tackle and one less first rounder that could be helping the team somewhere.

Yea, you keep pushing this agenda that is factually incorrect… But you never point out the reality, he’s a super athletic player from a small school who is VERY raw and also missed his entire rookie season AND the offseason because of injuries.

In the end, he may be the best tackle ever play for the Saints, a complete bust or more likely, something in the middle but if he fails, it will have ZERO to do with his athletic ability.

But yea, you keep beating this completely inaccurate drum even if it makes you look silly.

We won a SB with Jermon Bushrod at LT. It also helped that Dwight Freeney was suffering from
a high ankle sprain. If Freeney had been healthy the game plan would have been totally different.

I hope he is the starting LT moving forward. His position on this team always should have been left tackle. I wonder who thought that he could make the transition out of college from LT to LG?
