This far out, you may not get much of a discount from some of the 4 stars yet. But playing the waitng game with them can cost you getting any room at all.

That was my thinking. For the final three home games (Including the Tampa game), I used a CC to guarantee a room at the Hilton Garden Inn French Quarter. If I run into some big 4-Star Hotwire discount before then I can cancel the reservations within three days of the stays without a penalty.

If you want to go to the Rams game, you might want to book that one now. Rooms are already getting scarce for that one due to Conventions.

Dec. 2nd vs. Tampa is official.

Originally, I wanted to do the Rams game on Nov. 11th to watch the Saints beat up on Haslett and Venturi's defense, but there is a real-estate convention in town and many of the better hotels are already booked up for that one.

There won't be any group ticket purchasing, we will all be on our own in that regard, but we will have a crawl and golf outing. Maybe we can check into a repeat of the Rock & Bowl party, which was terrific.

Anyway, it's all in the planning stages, but you can go ahead and book your rooms in advance.

I have game tickets, plane tickets, hotel reservations, a rental car reserved, and golf clubs for whackin' things.

Now that I am this deep I am looking at going salary at work. Hopefully they let me keep my vacation and they let me take the Saturday before the game off so that I can leave Friday night and make the golf outing.

Do the golf outing and the rock & bowl thing conflict?

Is the rock & bowl thing done in lieu of the pub crawl? I don't drink alcohol but the wife does.
