Another metric - No One Watching the Saints (Teams that pulled the most and fewest viewers in 2024) (13 Viewers)

More viewers than the Broncos. That’s surprising.

More viewers than the Falcons. That’s expected.

I’d actually say those numbers look solid for the Saints. Only three million fewer viewers than the bigger market, Super Bowl contending Eagles, who round out the top 10.
Agreed. Considering the season and the small market, I'd say they did pretty well.

I’m not sure what this data means or where it’s pulled from. Do they include only local viewership of the game on the broadcast networks? Does this include prime time games that would slant towards teams that have more and more desirable times of viewership? Is this from NFL Sunday Ticket viewership?

in terms of local viewership of games, I can’t imagine there is any city more tuned into the games then New Orleans, Buffalo and probably Green Bay.
It does make sense. The Saints draw from Louisville, Misssissippi to parts of Bama and Pensacola. That gives you about 7-10 million potential viewers.
Then you have your visiting team adding onto the average.

Other fans watched the Saints games this year because their favorite team was playing them. This stat can't/doesn't decipher if the 15 million was just primarily Saints fans.
It really shows just how much the Saints take over that Southeast region.
Notice that the bottom (minus NE) all have competing teams close by.

Wouldn’t that be the case with every other team?

These ratings mean almost nothing and are mostly just a product of who you played and when, along with how many national TV games you had going into the year, and market size.

All skewed data.

The Bears are awful every year, but are in a big market and are always playing in primetime, hence why they’re top 10. As of late, the Giants too, for that matter.

Bottom 10 for viewership...

I guess that's good, based on the comments here.

Good thing? Not necessarily.

It just doesn’t mean what you seem to think it means (or want it to mean).

Trying to get a NFL team’s market average is pretty difficult because more often than not, you’re going beyond your market.
Unless you’re the C game, you’re getting shown beyond your market and your opponents market.
It’s not like the NBA and MLB where 98% of the games are just in that market.

Losing is not good for business, and Mick doesn't understand that concept. There is no time to give a coach three years to prove themselves; Dennis Allen should have been fired in 20

Does Mick understand that they share the TV revenue evenly regardless of which teams get the most viewers?

Pretty good number for the Saints IMO. It’s hard just to get through watching the game as a fan since Drew Brees retired.
