Any restaurants in NOLA open around Christmas?

Had not heard about the new location. So the new location is the "old" Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. Again, same question I had about the Red Lobster in Metairie ....WHO WAS EATING THERE?
Tourists would go so that they could buy merchandise with the city's name on it.

Source: Had ex who wanted souvenirs. (Food was sub-par, as expected)

(Speculation) when the postK rents really took off (‘11 or ‘12 or so) , it was hard for a local midrange eatery to sustain
Chains were able to weather the ebbs and flows of tourist money- and they also provided a place for families to eat who wanted to eat in the quarter but didn’t want to eat at Bayona
Of course. And I'm glad for the tourists. But coming to a place like New Orleans and then eating at a chain restaurant for seafood? No.

dibs on their old sign !

More power to you. I would imagine it'll go for a couple of organs and maybe a few newborns with its historical value.

ETA: I would imagine buying the bar might make a killing as well if someone was willing to take the risk on moving it.

Drago’s in the Hilton hotel downtown should be open. Not a fan, but maybe it would be to others.

Compere Lapin is so good. One of my favourite restaurants anywhere.

As for Bubba Gump, I get that it’s subpar, but I’ve always made a point of going to the one on Santa Monica pier when I’m in town. Nothing better than a few beers overlooking the water there even if the fried prawns kinda suck.

And to the poster above - yes, I have like four souvenir cocktail glasses from my various visits there.

Not a fan of a Reveillon type menu. I find most of the food, at most restaurants will be just a notch above buffet quality. And I have tried quite a few. I avoid the Christmas eve ones, like they are the plague. JMO though, obviously.

I hear the Red Lobster is.
Gross. LOL.

I would just do Outback instead, or Flemmings, if you want something along a chain style joint, in New Orleans.

We are actually staying quite simple, with a Five Happiness Chinese dinner. Always consistent. Staying away from the chains and the réveillon type menus.

The place I always laugh at, though, is Red Lobster in Metairie. Dear God, WHO is going there?!?
