NFL Draft Anyone else watching Cam Ward? (2 Viewers)

Highly doubt it. It will likely be another Eli situation.
I was so shocked by that at the time. The chargers must have really sucked if Daddy had to step in.

It was the GM A.J. Smith. Archie didn't like him at all.

He Alabama’s fastest player, we could use him as a running back or tight end if he didn’t pan out as a qb. I like Milroe.
He doesn’t see the field well enough to be a running back (or QB) a move tight end would be his only position imo

That never happens though (aside from Taysom Hill). QBs are typically too proud to accept anything less

It feels like a potential Lamar Jackson situation to me.

I think Jackson was a better passer coming out, but that doesn't mean Milroe can't develop as a passer. And he is electric as a runner.

I think whoever takes him is going to have to be very patient with developing him as a passer and probably run more of a spread, RPO, and Read Option offense for the first few years. But, I guess that's kind of what Baltimore did with Jackson.

We desperately need a tight end.

We don't even know if Milroe can catch or block. And we don't know if he could ever be a good route runner. You don't draft a guy unless you have a vision for him. You can't just say he's a really good football player without a position so we should draft him. Maybe that's worth a shot as mid-round pick, but Milroe is likely to go in the 1st and you can't risk a 1st round pick on him unless you think he can play QB.

If you need a TE, you draft a TE.

He’s arguably not a QB. Dude is pretty much Fields and Richardson.

Fields was a better passer than Milroe, but I think Milroe is a better passer than Richardson. But it seems clear that the issue with Richardson is more about attitude and not having "the chest" than anything else.

He needs a lot of work as a passer, but it does appear that Milroe has the work ethic and type of background you would want in a guy that needs to work hard to develop as a passer.

I think that would be a good fit if you’re hiring Monken or Kingsbury as HC
