Anyone else think that a realistic amount of wins for this team with Winston at QB would be 6 to 7? If we can get 8 wins with him at QB. I would be happy honestly. If this front office wants to really compete for a title. We need to go at GB hard for Rodgers or hope seattle fails again and Russell Wilson requests a trade.

I think we can hit 10 wins with Jameis. This team is not void of talent to be sub 500. And Jameis I think will surprise alot of people. The talent is there and he has shown signs of maturity.

Players tend to revert back to their old selves once the bullets start to fly. As soon as Winston throws a interception or 2, Payton will be running the ball 75% of the time every game after that.

I would think with Taysom we should get 10 wins... so you are saying we are going to start a quarterback who will get fewer wins?

This is a loaded team. 6 or 7 wins would be total failure.
Taysom has a better escape ability than Jameis. Go look at the film and because teams will dare him to make them beat them. I can also see defenses disguising the blitzes to make him throw numerous interceptions. Go look at the YouTube videos of Jameis from 2019. Teams sent pressure and disguised the blitz on him and you would think he was playing for the other team. Football IQ is everything. I’ll be happy with 8 wins this year if he starts. I’m still holding out hope for a surprise Aaron Rodgers trade or the dark horse Qb from Notre dame we drafted.

Or maybe we see that a system can actually work wonders for a player. Dude averaged around 14 interceptions a year and then he throws 30 when playing in an outdated system with receiver options (something the media never brings up on those "WTF" interception but caped for Brady throwing the same "WTF" interceptions in the same situation). Common sense would tell folks that's an outlier but you know things can get muddled when it comes to certain players.

I look at it like this; in 2019, we talk about his interceptions but his defense and special teams stopped them from having a winning record. He kept them in more games more often than he kept them out and at the second half of the year, his numbers can be put up against anyone elite QB, and this is while finishing the season with a busted hand and knee. Other part of the narrative that isn't stated; he played the last 2 games of the year without his top receivers (that Houston game was brutal though) and everyone talks about the tipped pass that "ended" his Bucs career but don't talk about the kicker that missed all those field goals during the Falcons game. Not to mention, the game was tied on a last minute drive where the defense couldn't stop them on 4th down.

That being said, I feel good about him on the Saints. His upside is way higher than the media driven narrative.

I hope we go 17-0 with JW. But my gut and my eyes tell me 6-11 or 7-10 at best. This is what I predict based upon Onyemota, Lattimore missing multiple games, lack of LB depth, a new QB, a new punter..........................................

That same outdated system that helped them win a Super Bowl or that same defense that led them there ? Asking for a friend. You have higher hopes than I do. I’m excited to see what that Qb from Notre dame can do or if we can pull off a trade for Aaron Rodgers.

If you actually watched the games, you would know that wasn't the case. That outdated system had Brady throwing interceptions left and right. They changed their offense to cater to Brady. You couldn't have looked at the entire season and not notice that.

I believe this could and probably should be a 10 win team no matter who wins the QB battle. That said, the 6 game suspension of Onyemata really hurts and 10 may be a stretch now.

Edit/Add: unless another player we were thinking of as a backup really steps it up - always a possibility.

Interceptions left and right?

Brady only threw 12 INTs all of last year to 40 TDs, and the first 8 games of the season, he threw only 4 picks to 20 TD's in 308 attempts (610 total). He also had more games with no picks (5) the first half of the season than the second half of the season (4)

So statistically speaking, Brady was better the first half of the season, under "that outdated system".
