Are You Living in the New Orleans Area (1 Viewer)

Family is from Broussard (kind of funny). They moved to Gulfport and then to Mobile, where I was born. My dad use to tell of stories of when they had 'saints parties' on the Miss. coast (to encourage support/tickets). My family has had season tickets up until about 10 years ago when all of the kids moved away.
Have been a Saints fan as soon as I started following football. Even before that, I remember going to games with a bag on my head..............I was like 10, didn't know why, but I did.

Born and raised in Lafayette, LA, and a proud cajun. Been a saints fan all of my memorable life. Moved for a grand total of two weeks to Uptown New Orleans last year before Katrina had other plans. Married a CA girl I met in FL and now reside in Miami, FL. I try and make it back home as much as possible. Love dem saints!!!!!!

Born and raised in St Bernard(Chalmette) and was living in Arabi until the storm hit and now i'm living in St Martinville(Lafayette area) but its not home and I really don't want to be here but I have to for the time being.

Everybody in my family is a Saints fan, never knew any Cowboy or Panthers fans in my life......

since when has that been called broadmoor? ive never heard that until i saw the signs while driving aroud

It goes back a fair bit although the neighborhood distinctions faded out of use over the last few decades prior to Katrina. I remember seeing a few businesses calling themselves "Broadmoor (Whatever Line of Work They Were In)" in the late 80's although most of them were older buildings/businesses that probably started in the 60's or 70's. My mother, who is in her 60's, frequently refers to the area near Uptown Square where Matt and Nadie's is located the "Black Pearl" (a name also listed on the sites below).

Here's a link of the various neighborhood designations:

Broadmoor is in the Uptown/Carrollton district: http://www.gnocdc.org/orleans/3/index.html

Born in Metairie. Grew up on both banks with extended stays in the East and Chalmette. Katrina sling shot me around the state for a couple of months but wound up just blocks away from the hospital I was born in (Lakeside).

As for time being a saints fan..hmmm...

Whenever it was when the Falcons beat the Saints with a hail mary at the end.

Early 80's? Late 70's?

Long enough.

Born in Touro hospital. Grew up in Marrero. John Ehret Grad 1983. Attended Nicholls. Joined the Air Force in Dec 88. Have been back to New Orleans every chance I get which is about once every couple of years. All of my extended family, as well as parents and siblings are still in the N.O. area. I WILL BE THERE FROM 15 DEC UNTIL 11 JAN!!!!!

Metairie born and raised, had my tickets since 84. Bump in the road during Katrina at Tiger Stadium but back in section 115. Happy as can be.

AKSaintsFan... Tyrone Mitchell and Tyrone Vaughan beat my Rummel Raiders in 82 at the dome. Remember? Great Ehret team!

Born in Paris (France), live in Paris... went to New Orleans for a total of 6 months during Summers (when I was still a student)... cant wait to come back soon and this time during the season I hope.

Saw three pre-season games in the Dome.

Born in Michigan, moved around for a few years, lived in Southern California (north of LA) for about 2 years, and moved to Slidell when I was 5. My family has lived in the same house there (flooded after Katrina, currently rebuilding... fortunately, it's a two-story house and the second floor was okay) since 1984.

I went to college in New York City (Columbia University) and came back to Slidell after my undergraduate, got a Masters in Public Health from Tulane, moved into New Orleans in 2003, and am currently pursuing a Ph.D in Pharmacology at Tulane Medical School.

According to that fun map that someone put up, I live in the "Black Pearl" area now, but I also lived in the Broadmoor/Fontainebleu area pre-K.

Go Saints! =)

I was born and raised in NOLA. Lived uptown until I was 18. Went to Ben Franklin (the old courthouse school on Carrolton). I remember sneaking into Tulane Stadium to pretend we were the Saints.

I moved to Calif. to go to Berkeley and now my job has me in Cincy.

But my feelings for the Saints and NOLA go back 40 years.

Well at least since the early 1970's. I grew up in that area and it was called Broadmoor then.

I think they are just a little more organized about it now.

Born in NOLA, grew in Metairie, went to college in Baton Rouge, first job after college in Dallas for 3 years until I started my own business with my wife back in NOLA. Lived in Lakeview until Katrina sent a 10 foot wall of water down my street.
Starting my life over in Lafayette with my wife & 3 kids. Been a Saints fan since my first time in the Superdome in 1978ish when I was 10.

Born in New Orleans raised in Arabi and Chalmette (Class of 72). Now in Denver since 1999. I worked in security for Andrew D. Frain at Tulane Stadium and was in the stands for John Gilliam's(sp) TD kickoff return for the first game. Bought my first season tickets in 1987 when Mora was head coach and we had our first ever winning season and got to see a lot of great defensive play from the "DOME PATROL". I would love to see our Saints with the offense we have now and a defense like we had then. That would be a dream come true.
