I'm not sure if anyone on this forum is a fan of the show Arrow, but if you are a comic book fan and you aren't watching, you need to give it a try. The first season was outstanding and season 2 has been even better.

I've enjoyed it. I was never a fan of the Green Arrow comic (pretty much hated it, really), but this show has been very good. The writing is excellent. Some of the actors aren't exactly in danger of winning any awards, if you know what I mean, but the scripts make up for what's lacking in that department. Good show.

I'm watching, and have been since the beginning. This season they're referencing or using other DC characters, but so far the only other hero seen has been Black Canary. I'm wondering where they're going with the current (apparently pre-Flash) Barry Allen arc.

I could've lived without the return of Malcolm though. And why are they using Ras Al Ghul, a Batman villain?

They have already announced a Flash spinoff show, so look for Barry to get his powers soon.

I thought maybe that was it, but I hadn't heard about the announcement.

This'll be the second attempt at a Flash series. I only watched one episode in the previous series.

I mentioned Arrow in the Agents of SHIELD thread. I've loved it from the beginning. Serialized, fast-paced, great action, deep maythology building...all things I would want in any drama, especially one based around a comic book character. As far as shows based in comic universes go, Arrow is far superior to SHIELD(though I still have hope it continues to get better.

Thing only thing that slightly brings down Arrow a bit is Laurel. I'm not sure if it's the way the character is written or the actress(maybe both?), but I just find her annoying.

I agree 100% on both counts, and I've been pleased that there has been a lot less Laurel this season as opposed to last. (even though she is very easy on the eyes!)

Green Arrow has the strangest origin in all of comics.

Rich playboy falls off a boat, becomes stranded on an island, turns to archery for survival, and becomes a socialist superhero.

Great mid-season finale. Some of "twists" were a little expected and predictable, but I totally geeked during the last scene.

Yeah. The mask scene was pretty good, but I was more excited with the Barry Allen scene that preceded it. He's got a 3rd episode this season that was originally supposed to be near the end, but I've heard they moved it up to be the next new episode in January since they decided to give him his own show with a full pilot. The live-action Flash show was on CBS when I was a kid and I loved every episode (and still do thanks to the entire series being in a $15 DVD set I found at Best Buy a couple years ago), so I'm excited to see where they take him. All the Flash love aside, though, Arrow is pretty awesome right now. WAY better than Smallville was by this point in its run (and pretty much the whole way through save for some select episodes).

Whoops, so much at the end. Sorry. I think I meant the, like, fourth to last scene. Slade with the full on eye-patch look. Though, both the Flash origin and the mask were very worthy.

Also, I'm really excited about The Flash show, especially since it's the same creators. It has almost a Buffy/Angel type of potential in terms of crossover mythology.

I think its the character that is annoying because I enjoyed Katie Cassidy when she was Ruby (the original) in the 3rd season of Supernatural.
