Why not? Just cuz your screen name is "mister pc" doesn't mean it isn't ok to not like them.
I interpreted the thread differently. Of course it is ok to hate nelson, it goes without saying. I was trying to not be redundant by naming bands that are currently popular, yet I feel like I have to like them. If I am at a party and someone says "you like The Arcade Fire right?", and I say "no", mouths drop like I just told the party goers to nibble all the flesh off of their grandma's face.
I thought the thread was a safe haven to say the bands that you hate like "it's ok to hate this band" as in, not everyone likes the same music so speak your mind.

Nickelback, Creed, Seether, M.I.A., Coldplay, U2, Disturbed, Staind, KoRn, Puddle of Mudd, Trapt, Akon, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Jack Johnson, Hed P.E., Soulja Boy, T.I., Justin Timberlake, The Fray, Britney Spears, Shinedown, Rascall Flatts, Black Eyed Peas, Plain White T's.

I'll stop there, but all I have to say is that I really feel bad for this generation's music.

there is music that i dont care for, but can still respect the artistic merits even though its not my personal taste. and then there are bands like nickleback. 2 different categories. i think a lot of the bands you listed would fall into the 1st category of "not your specific taste" as opposed to the "complete bastageization of music".
 
I hate David Draiman from Disturbed. That dude is an idiot. He thinks he's Count Dracula. I went to the Music as a Weapon show sunday to see Killswitch and Chimaira and I got a good laugh watching that dude walk around stage. Some of their music is ok but his personality is rediculous

I was there and can agree with this. His stage presence and personality sucked. That Disturbed jumpsuit with the sleeves cut off was ghey.
 
Just out of curiosity, why do so many people hate Nickelback? Not that I'm a big fan of thiers or anything.

Now if anyone mentions Aerosmith, I may have to hurt em....

oh jeez, so nickleback is crap, but I consider the bands I mentioned the Nicklebacks of their genres. The real issue is that you think 1 genre is artistically better than the other. The truth is all genres have Nicklebacks. Nickleback is a bastageization of what? Radio music? I think the bands I mentioned are bastageizations of indie music. So are you saying that just because a band is "indie" that it gets a pass on not just being a "scene" band? I call it the Candlebox syndrome, or if you are a bit younger you can call it the Stone Temple Pilots syndrome, or if you are even younger you can call it the Gym Class Heros syndrome... whatever, in my world, it is not only ok to hate the bands I mentioned, it is commonplace. So disagree if you want, thats is fine, but I will set my own parameters thank you.
