Cincy's foaming at the mouth for a win right now. They're probably mad and ready to take it out on someone. Ala the way the Steelers were feeling this week.

With this loss, we will be just as hungry. Just as angry to get back on the winning road.

We're at home. I'm hoping with an electric crowd we can continue to pile on Cincinatti's train wreck season.

the cincy game is huge for us because we play at Atlanta the following week. huge.

we need to get to 10 wins to take the division. basically, we need to win all our remaining home games vs. cincy, san fran, washington, and carolina.

lose to cincy, that means we also need to take a road game at either atlanta, dallas, or new york. not easy.

lose an additional home game and we're in trouble.

Just my opinion but I think we'll be a lot more hungry than the Bengals next week. We know we lost this game because of turnovers and we can correct that. Cincinatti on the other hand had their backs against the wall today and I think that lost today where they blew a 21 point lead might have deflated them completely.

10 wins doesn't a playoff team you automaticly make. much less div. winner.

10 wins possibility yes, but not automatic.. i' recall 12 wins and not getting in. thanks 49'rs.. grrr

I heard Aikman I believe say a 9-7 team will get in in the NFC, I just do not see that happening....I still think we finish 11-5.

Tought schedule no doubt, the good thing is those home games are definitely winnable because they're at home, Cincy being the best of that bunch(as is Carolina).......Like you said if we can win 3 of those 4 and win 1 or 2 of those road games we should be in good position...Make no mistake though NO game in the NFL is easy....Just ask the Falcons......hahahaha

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the reason that was was because the 49'ers were in the same division as us, and I think we got in to the playoffs that year but we just never won the division or had home field.....

It was 1989. We went 10-6 but didn't make the playoffs.

The 49ers won the division, but the Rams were also 10-6, and they beat us in the tie breaker.

We split games with the Rams that year - Old NFC west.
