i went to watch the maggies almost every week i could. tickets were ridiculously priced.... around 7-8 aus dollars, so $3.50 usd?

very fast paced, full contact, zero pads, and high scoring. oh and the concussion ratio compared to the nfl, well, it almost doesn't exist.

I'm a Hawthorn fan. My grandfather played for the team in the 1930s and 1940s (when they weren't good at all - he was something of an Archie Manning figure during those early years). More recent times have been very kind to Hawthorn fans though with 13 premierships since 1961 including four since 2008. I tend to go to all our games in Victoria and a couple of road trips annually too. Hard to separate the Hawks and the Saints as my #1 sporting love - probably the Hawks just - but the good thing is there is minimal overlap between the AFL and NFL season.

I kitted up @OutlawSaint and his buddy in Hawthorn baseball caps in Atlanta prior to the TNF game against the Falcons in November too. Gotta spread the fandom.

anyone else a footy fan?

season starts in a little over a month.

go maggies!
While I don't have an inkling on how ARF or rugby works, when I did go to Australia/New Zealand, I did load up on some All Blacks beer steins whilst in Auckland since I really dug their logo...
