Bears hire Ben Johnson as HC to 13M/yr; Dennis Allen is expected to become Bears DC, Johnson is heavily pursuing Rizzi to be STC (60 Viewers)

He’ll bring stability to the organization. He’s not an inspiring hire as we know his ceiling. He’s no Sean Payton or Andy Reid when it comes to offensive creativity, so I can’t see him winning a playoff game with Carr. But the Saints will be back to possibly being an 8 to 10 win team.

That's all Mickey Loomis could ever dream of.

Until I see DA do anything without the foundation of the very detail-oriented SP regime’s backdrop, I’m calling him a fraud.

I don’t view him as some revered DC. He got to us at the exact right time, with our star studded defense and brand new shutdown corner, and reaped the benefits.

I’m just not buying that he’s some defensive savant based on his “maybe slightly above average at times” level of success under Sean.

I mean, we all have opinions, but the hottest young OC in the NFL is apparently going to hire him as his DC. I'm not sure that what we think matters in comparison. Especially when Ben Johnson is a guy that worked against that same defensive system every day and saw it in in action for 3 years.

Football coaches make mistakes all the time, and we all know this league’s history of being a good ol’ boys networking event recycling many of the same people based on reputation, but hey, sure. Guess we’ll see.

Right out of the reach of a generational QB as usual.

I'd rather suck than be an 8 win team. That's the worst.

The Saints can always trade up, but for some reason would rather trade up for every other position but the QB position.

The QBs in this draft aren't worth trading up for. But you are right they need to be willing to do it when the opportunity is there and they haven't been.

He'll get us to the playoffs with Carr next year. It'll be one and done. So we'll still have to bide our time until we find the elite QB either in the draft or developed. But he'll keep us as relevant as Sean Payton will keep Denver.
