The Bears recently called the Steelers to see if they would be allowed to talk to Mike Tomlin in an attempt to trade for him, only to have Pittsburgh rebuff their inquiry, sources told ESPN.

He did not have a good season, but most observers see the talent and that he can be salvaged. I don't see Mike going anywhere due to the history of the franchise. Mike is still a great coach, but if you don't find a QB you're screwed.

He’s talented, no doubt, but every QB is talented. That kid missed some of the easiest throws. Seriously, basic routine throws that Stevie Wonder could make.
I’m sure things will click for him at some point, but this season, he was hard to watch

Didn’t he gift his Oline passes to his nail salon, so they can get their nails manicured and painted if they desired? I read that and it definitely seemed like a valid source that said it. Also said the Oline rejected the gift

They looked at his stats, which were not bad. I’m sure they didn’t watch many Bears games. I did for fantasy football purposes and Caleb was brutal to watch, more often than not

Yep. Not the guy I’d want leading my team at the QB position. He’s too much of an oddball for me.

Based on this news, it seems like McCarthy is their guy. Pursuing Tomlin tells me they want a veteran coach over a first time HC.

I don’t blame them, they fired the last two first-time HC’s with a combined 45-66 record (which should be a consideration for everyone who is beating on the table for a first-time HC at all costs).
