Ben Watson out per Kat Terrell (1 Viewer)

I’m pretty sure rest doesn’t make appendicitis go away. This doesn’t sound right to me...
Learned recently that sometimes appendicitis can be treated without surgery these days. In the (recent) past, they'd take it out prophylactically anytime symptoms appeared.

Ben has been one of my favorite Saints all time. He is just a stand up person. I hope he gets well soon and has the opportunity to play in 2 weeks! ;)

Terrell needs her access to the team revoked for "breaking" this. Plus, it sounds inaccurate. Appendicitis can be treated without surgery as long as it hasn't ruptured, but divulging the guy's nonfootball personal health issues was unnecessary. Doing so before the Saints hve to announce he's out is just downright selfish on her part. It helps no one but the Rams in preparation. It certainly wasnt for fans benefit. It was a self serving move.

I'm shocked by this. Had mine removed.

Josh Hill already plays the most snaps and is the best blocker.

This will hurt in that we can't run Watson down the seam a few times a game, but overall this won't make or break the Saints on Sunday. Dan Arnold will just play more passing snaps.

Ben is going to about announced as officially out for Sunday in a couple of hours, and having observed Kat's relationship with Ben and his family, he is likely the source of this article. She's just doing her job as a journalist.

With the way Payton keeps a lid on the players, I doubt Watson just now decided to break Payton's rules regarding injuries.

Hoping the antibiotics take care of it so we can get him back for the Super Bowl. Something tells me that appendectomy surgery would land him on IR. Typically you can return to "normal activities" within a week or two after the appendectomy but I don't think playing in the Super Bowl is "normal activities"

Arnold is healthy. He's just been in Payton's doghouse for fumbling vs. DAL and bobbling a ball that got intercepted in Carolina and getting a TD knocked out of his hands vs. ATL. He's still raw.

I feel bad for Ben b/c he seems like such a stand-up guy, but he has not been a major part of our offense at all this year.
