We also received a starting center in Max Unger who played 4 seasons for the Saints at a high level. He missed only one game as a Saint and started 63 games while here. Graham went to the Hawks, was inconsistent and only lasted there 3 years. The Saints actually won that trade, even with the whiff on the 1st round pick, Stephon Anthony.

How would yall feel if we gave the Jags Lattimore and our 2nd for their 1st rounder, or Latt and our 3rd for their 2nd?

I have no idea how the math works out, but I am just trying to figure out a way for us to get value for a player who is better than what we’ll get in a standard 1 player for 1 pick swap. His injuries were fluky and not those of a chronic lingering singular issue, unlike Jalen Ramsey’s, so I really do think we could expect more for him, but I don’t see the Jags giving us a 1st or 2nd outright for him.

Did we? The consensus at the time was the saints made a great pick. It didn't work out, but not for lack of trying. Go back and read the reactions at the time.

The benefit would be in making his injury management someone else’s problem while not enduring the will-he-or-won’t-he uncertainty of game week preparation. I also just predicted the Saints to be 7-2 at the trade deadline, so it’s more likely they’d be buyers than sellers if that holds. We shall see

A former NFL coach made the statement "you don't become good by trading good players".

Mickey Loomis is a lot of things, but one thing he's good at is managing the cap. So I don't believe the rumors are swirling because the Saints need salary relief.

I'm sure if the trade happen, you'll hear people justifying the move saying that we have young talent that mesh well together, etc. But hey...we've made bad moves and this current regime will continue to do so....
