Body Cleanse.... do you believe in it? (1 Viewer)

The toxinout is basically just a multivitamin. It has massive doses of Vitamin C and B1, as well as a huge dose of Zinc. Considering overconsumption of Vitamin C just gets expelled from the urine, its pretty harmless and also useless. Just eat an orange. I'd say vitamin B1 overdosing is also fairly harmless, but again completely useless.

The very large dose of Zinc is definitely potentially harmful. Selenium as well. And while the doses in the Toxinout are not above the harmful level themselves, you still have to consider your normal diet in factoring in intake.

As for the detoxigreen, again its really no different from a multivitamin. I wouldn't call them directly harmful, but they certainly don't completely "cleanse your system of toxins," whatever that even means.

And the Colonix is, surprise surprise, fiber!! How amazing...

Basically you just paid $150 for a box of kashi high fiber cereal and a multivitamin. Congratulations, thats called a rip off. You should have consulted someone first, they could have saved you $130 you could use to buy film to photograph your poo..

In light of your other heart disease thread which didn't generate much interest, and in light of your rather unimpressive knowledge of all things medical, I'd say this is all fairly suspect...

I never begrudge someone the ability to piss their money away on a scam. Its your money, you can use it to light your cigarettes for all I care. But don't think you can go around trying to push this junk on others and not get called out on it.

I could send it back. They offer a 100% Guarantee. It's not a problem but still, I'm going to continue to take it since there is really no harm.

Thank you for being concerned.
In case you missed it, here is a full list of the ingredents with these products.

I pulled a random ingredient -- Uva Ursi Leaf -- from a random link you provided -- Colonix Intestinal Cleaner -- and got the following from drugdigest.org (which I admittedly can't vouch for.) All of that out of the way:

What side effects should I watch for?

Major Side Effects

In a dose of 6,000 mg (6 grams) or higher taken at one time, uva ursi may cause seizures or cyanosis (a blue tint to the skin caused by a lack of oxygen in the blood). Single doses of 30,000 mg (30 grams) or higher have been reported to cause death.

Other oral preparations that are high in tannin content have been associated with kidney or liver damage. Since uva ursi also contains tannins, using it may also present a risk for kidney or liver damage.

A case study of several individuals who regularly used large amounts of an oral product similar to uva ursi for many years, found that they had a higher incidence of tongue and lip cancer than expected. Cancers of the nose and esophagus may also be more likely in people who use large amounts of tannin-containing products for long amounts of time.

Less Severe Side Effects

Taking uva ursi has also been associated with:

Brownish or greenish urine
Nausea
Ringing in the ears
Upset stomach

 6000-30,000mg???
That would be an incredible amount to take. Good research though. So far my urine looks fine. No Nausea, ringing in the ears and no upset stomach. If act, quite the opposite has been true.

It's part of a proprietary blend that is 12g with no indication (that I saw) of how much of that is Uva Ursi Leaf.

But the point was not that you are at some great risk from that one ingredient alone, but that a random ingredient does have risks associated with it. This speaks to one point already discussed that just because something is "all natural" it certainly can't be automatically considered safe.

But how much of the Uva Ursi is in one serving. I couldn't tell because the actual amount is hidden in the 12 g "proprietary blend." That should trouble you a little bit. It reminds me of the "coral calcium" scam several years ago.
