Boycott until Allen is removed (4 Viewers)

I don't think it is weird i have been a Saints fan since birth and will be until i die.I have been a season ticket holder since 2001 and i have no intentions of ever giving my tickets because things ae bad.The saints are family to me and always will be a big part of my life. In 2017 when i was in the hospital not expected to live i told my niece that i did not want season tickets to die with me. She even contacted a lawyer in Texas where i lived at time to draw up a will for me with that provision. The Saints are family and i will continue to support them in life and death.
That is awesome! I’m so glad you survived and hope you’re all better. I get it.

I was supposed to check out in 2019 and even wrote a goodbye. God has seen fit to keep me around here for a bit longer and I’m grateful every moment of every day.

To me, the bad times make the good times better - so I'll still watch every game that I can, I'll still give the NFL my $400 annually for the international Gamepass app, I'll keep buying merch and giving Underhill $10 per month for NOF, and everything else that goes with being a fan of this team. I might not make a trip over to see 3/4 games this season as I have done most years since 2017 or so - but that's really not due to our performance, it's because we've got a kid on the way (though you better believe I was very nervous with a due date around the Super Bowl this season after the Saints went 2-0, as there is no way I am missing a Saints SB berth again should it occur in my lifetime).

And I'm no fan of DA, but a prime Vince Lombardi couldn't get a winning performance out of this team at the moment given the injuries. I'm not giving him a free pass but firing the coach at this stage feels like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. There needs to be a root and branch review of the whole organisation, and for me, it starts with the medical and conditioning staff. The problems with injuries happens too often to be a coincidence.

Absolutely agree. Wasn’t trying to come across as a better fan than anyone else. Just my unique way of “fanning”. I was very abused as a kid and the Saints were like my way out, my super hero….hard to explain. They never left me so I’ll never leave them.

Only fans I don’t respect are the fair weather who jump from front runner to front runner. Other than those types I certainly don’t wanna gatekeep or tell folks how to fan.
I knew what you were trying to say. I know you enough that you are one to tell others what to do or how to do it. I wish I could have your attitude towards the team. I just have had enough of the Dennis Allen era is gives me vibes of the Ditka era where the team just quit and parts of the Haslett era. I guess I just don't have the time and patience I had in my twenties and thirties to go though this bad play and hope for better days. I just don't see it as long as Mickey Gaslighter Loomis is in charge and DA is the coach.

I will root for one other team if they are going for a Championship and I have my reasons and have made them clear as to why. I never did that in the past but I won't let the state of this team ruin my enjoyment for playoff football. It just seems like this organization is destined to make the same mistakes over and over.

Like I said I wish I had your attitude after all of these years. We were fed Spam for years and then had steak for years and I cannot stomach Spam again 😆.

PSI am sorry you had such a a terrible childhood but you are a fine person and really good dude. More people need to be like you. You are a survivor.

i gave up my season tickets after the NFCCG screwjob and said i'd never spend money on NFL merch again.

so far i havent. havent gone to a game, havent bought a tshirt/hat/anything saints/nfl related.

i watch the game. if it sucks, i turn it off now. i keep up with SR but not as much as i used to. i play fantasy football but thats about it.

i know nfl gets money for ratings and such. but i'll always be a football fan. i've given up being that hardcore saints fan though. i watch all games with an open mind, dont "hate" players on other teams just cause they play for the rivals.

its nice to be able to sit and watch a good game at times and not be like "man i hope xxxxx team loses cause itll help the saints get in playoffs"

just sit, have an open mind and just watch football.

I know this will sound weird (and be weird):

Being a long time fan myself I actually take some pride in loving them just as much even when they’re terrible. To me that’s true fandom. I’ve felt that way since I was a little kid being made fun of for being a fan of such a terrible team. It made me ever more proud to be a fan.
I respect that. Being a fan following this team and consuming the media reports, gives you a sense that you know the players personally. AK said in an interview recently that he literally feels like he’s playing for the city and feels like family to him.

If this was a serious franchise, DA wouldn't be the coach today or at the very least, you'd see Underhill reporting that the brass had a little meeting after last night to talk about the state of things. I don't know how anyone in the halls of the organization could have watched a fire dennis allen chant break out and "lets go broncos" chant take the game over after all the fans left after seeing Drew at halftime.
