Brandin Cooks on returning to the Saints, his thoughts on Saints WRs & talking to Derek Carr

Only part he lost me at was “we have a great receiver room”….

And I get it, what’s he going to say? These are always fluff, is what it is.

Excited to see how he does back home.
That statement should tell you how much stock to put into his other comments. He's going to find something positive to say about anyone with the team, as he should.

Sure, but there's also no reason to believe he's not being sincere either. Just because he says what someone expects him to say, it doesn't mean he's not speaking his truth.

I know they’re just doing their job, but one question I hate that reporters always ask offensive players is what do they think about the QB or QB/situation. I mean what are they supposed to say? “This dude stinks I don’t like him” like they just signed to play here.

For real. Just ONCE, I want to hear someone go all Jeff Spicoli in an interview:

It's fairly consistent no matter where you get it and the menu is basic and customizable for the customer. It's a good place to go if you have picky eaters and you get a decent or better amount of food. You don't go there for Mexican Food, you go there for a meat, vegetable and carb option that you can combine however you want.

People who make a big deal about Carr taking his family there is more telling about them than it is about Carr.
his critical fans that want him gone, will feel a huge emptiness when he's gone, especially when the back-up struggles. Brandon Cooks' opinion of DC4 matches the opinions of his new teammates and the rest of the league exactly. I'm hoping DC4 has a banger year then signs a 3 year extension. We were a shell of a team when he was out.

That people are still making comments on it just shows how far this fan base has fallen. Quit embarrassing Saints fans
IMO, texting or commenting online, most of the time, comes across as insensitive and overly harsh. Sarcasm also doesn't text well and always comes across as insensitive. So on a mass scale, you'll have what sounds like a ton of insensitive fools, when in fact they didnt feel that way. I try to examine the spirit in which something is said more than what is being said.

I'm not from the area, and this is what I thought.

The first time I heard it, i thought someone was being funny. And it WAS funny to me, so I laughed. And I thought others were laughing too, so the joke continued to be told. Sarcasm...satire....meant to be funny. But now i see divided camps on this forum and I'm starting to wonder. WAS it a joke, or not? Do people actually have a problem with where a new FA signing took his wife and kids for their first meal in a new town over 2 years ago? RUFKM?

And for the record....I don't think it reflects poorly on the fanbase for anyone who thinks that. I think it reflects on the individual(s). Reminds me of the work environment where someone sits on a copier to make a copy of his "moon" and posts it on the bulletin board. Some laugh, and some are offended. But it doesn't reflect poorly on the office and, therefore, doesn't need to be a new policy in the employee handbook for future hires. You just need to identify and chat with that ONE guy who took it too far. Making it about the entire office is even more offensive to me than the original idiot who thought we all needed to see a copy of their sphincter. JMO...

With a healthy offensive line and the return of Olave, Shaheed, and the addition of Cooks, I think Moore and his offensive staff could have the Saints flying high again like the first two weeks of the season with Kubiak calling the plays before the injuries started to mount.

We have two talented receivers, but we have to get over this injury bug that's plagued us the last few seasons.

We have no idea what this team can be or look like because of injuries.
We really need the OL/running game to be top 10 to have a consistently potent offense. Derek Carr needs it badly for play action effectiveness and to take the load off his shoulders when they get into the redzone, which is his biggest weakness.

Derek Carr himself struggles so what’s the difference

Derek Carr wins games the backups are 0-7
....which makes the current QB situation all the more frustrating, yes. Trouble is, he's still the best we have, when experience is factored in. He's the epitome of "mid." You'd have to think CKM sees untapped production from him, else he logically wouldn't have taken the job.
