This is so discouraging. It feels like there may actually be some internal trouble with the team that Payton knows cannot be fixed until the off season. At this point only Cooks and Stills have done anything at wide receiver. So if Payton really felt we had a real shot at the playoffs I cannot see IRing Cooks when he'd be back in time for a run. I guess it's time to see what exactly we have in Toon and Morgan and prep for the off season? So, so disappointing

And it means nothing. Even if we make the playoffs we couldnt beat anyone in the Dome much less an away game. The season is over and once we lost to the Falcons and Cleveland we were done. I hope we lose out and get a great defensive player in the draft. Preferably a DE or LB. Throwing in the towel is correct. play for what? SB isnt even a possibility with this team and Playoffs dont mean anything this year because we already lost. Play for a great draft pick but we will try to win a few games and screw up our draft position. The season is over with 5 games left. There is always next year.

Maybe Yes. If it means keeping Mike Smith for a few more years, I might trade one playoff game this year for the chance to beat the Falcons on the way to real playoff deep runs multiple times
